Back inside.
Mr. Sullivan told me that Alexander had already sued Chloe first.
It turned out that after Chloe’s burner account was exposed a while ago.
She and her friend found themselves at the center of a storm, along with the two wealthy young men, being mocked by the entire internet.
As a result, Scarlett’s engagement to the Davis family was quickly called off.
Chloe was also kicked out.
Not only did Alexander take back all the properties and jewelry, but he also sued her for fraud and other charges, leaving her embroiled in lawsuits.
On top of that, the two of them mysteriously encountered thugs and were beaten up.
I was silent for a moment, then said softly, “Then just focus on` pushing forward with the divorce case.”
Mr. Sullivan nodded.
I met his deep, quiet dark eyes, and felt a slight stirring in my heart.
Actually, I had known him for a long time, though we were only nodding acquaintances.
When I was in college, he was already one of the most reliable young lawyer consultants in my father’s group.
After deciding to divorce, I asked for his help.
He agreed without hesitation.
That day, after Alexander chased the car, he confessed his feelings to me.
But I refused.
Having just ended a seven–year relationship, I was afraid.
Now I clearly realized that rather than tying all my emotions to someone else, it’s better to keep them in my own heart.
But I was grateful to him for still maintaining his grace, staying rational and quiet, not disturbing me.
My mood improved day by day.
Except Alexander was still entangled.
He often waited outside the company building, in the parking garage, outside the villa.
Even my parents were alarmed.
Dad arranged bodyguards to accompany me.
Mom stormed into his office and berated him.
However, after being humiliated in front of all the employees, Alexander didn’t fly into a rage as expected, but instead pleaded:
“Mom, if you’ve calmed down, can you help me persuade Olivia?”

My mom left in a huff.
That night, a ringtone broke the quiet night at dawn.
Mrs. Thompson’s voice sounded in my ear:
“Olivia, it’s me.”
“I’m not feeling well and I’m in the hospital… Do you have time to come see me?”
