His Plead and Guilt
His Plead and Guilt
Elena fumed in our link. “I challenged her outright and blocked her after she kept spewing lies. She‘ s lucky I didn’t claw her muzzle off.”
I forced myself to calm down. “Let her bark, Elena. Kade and I will solidify our bond in three days. Focus on being the best bridesmaid the Shadowfang Pack has ever seen.”
Even as I tried to move on, whispers about Cecilia’s schemes reached me. When Xander’s parents returned to the Hallowspring Pack, they immediately began investigating her claims of curse that had drawn Xander’s sympathy.
The truth they uncovered sent shockwaves through the pack. Cecilia‘ s supposed terminal illness was a fabrication. Her
fainting spells and complaints of pain were nothing more than manipulations to keep Xander close.

When the truth came to light, Elder Florence, the former Luna stormed into the infirmary, flanked by warriors. She tossed CeciliaMs belongings onto the ground and snarled, “You dare waste pack resources? Get out!”
Cecilia clung to the infirmary doorframe, her cries desperate. “Please, Elder Florence, don’t do this! Xander will-”
Before she could finish, Xander arrived, his eyes dark with fury. Cecilia‘ s face lit up, thinking he’d come to defend her. But his growl silenced the room.
“You‘ re not cursed?” he hissed, grabbing her roughly by the arm. “You lied to me? You manipulated me?”
Cecilia whimpered, her voice trembling. “Xander, I did it because I love you! You always said Arden was too perfect, that you felt overshadowed by her-”
Xander didn‘ t let her finish. He shoved her to the ground with a snarl. “You?

Compare yourself to Arden? You aren’t
worth a single strand of her fur.”
Cecilia managed a bitter smile at Xander s cutting words.
“Xander, why don’t you just admit it- you‘ ve fallen for me,” she said, her tone dripping with malice. “If you didn’t care, why would you go out of your way to protect me? To stand up for me in the pack meetings? To ensure my safety and to save me instead of that another woman?”
Xander‘ s golden eyes gleamed coldly, and he straightened, unflinching. “I looked out for you because Arden told me to,” he said, his voice steady. “You were her friend, and she wanted to ensure your safety even when she feels like she was losing me… I did it to honor her wishes.”
His words cut deeper as he added,
“Without Arden, do you truly believe I would give you a second thought? I only helped you because Arden once treated you.

like her best out of best friends.”
Cecilia face contorted with shock and disbelief, her composure unraveling. Her voice turned into a piercing wail that echoed through the pack’s territory.
When her sobs subsided, her tone grew cold and triumphant. “You claim to love her now, but it
but it’s too late. She will never
trust you again.”
“I ensured she knew the truth about you,” Elena sneered. “On the day of our ceremony, I send her all of the things that happened to us, and the photographs… Every betrayal. Every false promises.”
Her words lingered like a curse, but Xander‘ s face darkened with fury rather than guilt.
After realizing he could never gain my trust once again, Xander descended into
madness. His wolf, restless and
unbalanced, drove him to dangerous
extremes. He forced Cecilia onto his horse,

galloping recklessly toward the cliffside overlooking the river that divided their
territories.
“If I cannot have Arden, then we will both meet our end here!” he roared, his voice a mix of despair and rage.
Cecilia clung to him, her fear
overpowering her usual arrogance. Her screams pierced the night as the horse veered dangerously close to the edge. When the pack‘ s scouts finally intercepted him, dragging the horse back from the brink, Cecilia collapsed to the ground, trembling in relief.
Three days later, the night before my union. with Kade, a messenger arrived bearing a note from Xander. His words were shaky, almost unrecognizable, as if written in a
haze.
“Arden, may I witness your union? If I cannot stand at your side, I wish to see with my own eyes what I have lost forever.”
