Xander’s expression darkened, his face clouded with rage. His golden eyes locked onto me, and within moments, the guilt in his gaze shifted into stubborn defiance. He sneered, his voice dripping with venom.
“It doesn’t matter if you‘ re mated,” he growled. “It changes nothing. If I have to, I’ll drag you back to the Pack myself and force you to dissolve your bond!”
With that, he reached into his jacket and pulled out a rolled parchment, tossing it onto the ground at Kade’s feet.
“Do
you even know who I am?” Xander spat, his voice laced with arrogance. “I am the Alpha to the Hallowspring Pack. Name your price, Kade. Break the bond and step aside, or I’ll ensure you regret ever challenging me.”
His audacity was infuriating, and I clenched my fists, ready to lash out, but

Kade stopped me with a calm, reassuring gesture.
Unfazed, Kade’s lips curved into a faint, knowing smile. “Xander,” he began, hist voice cold and measured, “is this your grand plan to reclaim your ex–mate? Bribery and threats? Not exactly impressive.”
The words hit Xander like a slap, his face flushing with fury. He bared his teeth, a growl rumbling deep in his chest.
“Stay out of this!” Xander snapped. “Do you even realize what Arden and I are? We’ve been bonded since childhood! Ten years together, Kade! Do you really think. you can steal her from me? She belongs to me. As long as I’m around her, day and night, she’ll come back to me. I’ll make sure of it!”
The room vibrated with tension as Xander
suddenly lunged, his fist raised to strike
Kade.

“Xander, stop!” I cried, my heart pounding, but it was too late.
Kade moved swiftly, his hand snapping up to block the blow with ease. His cold gaze met Xander’s wild fury. “Belong to you?” Kade challenged him, his voice a deadly calm. “Do you think Arden is some possession you can claim and discard at will?”
Despite Xander‘ s size and strength–his years of Alpha training–he was no match for Kade‘ s raw power. In a blur, Kade pinned him, rendering him powerless.
With a subtle nod, Kade‘ s pack enforcers. appeared, moving in with practiced precision. They bound Xander with heavy iron chains, enchanted to hold even the strongest wolves. Xander thrashed and growled, his veins bulging with anger.
Xander tried to fight back but before
Xander could fully shift, they drove a syringe into his neck, injecting him with a surge of electro–serum–a cruel invention.

“You’ll regret this!” Xander roared. “Do you know who I am? How dare you

Kade adjusted his cuffs, his movements calm and deliberate. His voice was steady but ice–cold. “Hallowspring Pack, huh? You should return to your father and ask if he’s familiar with the Shadowfang Pack. Then maybe you’ll understand how badly you‘ ve miscalculated.”
The mention of the Shadowsfang Pack–the most powerful pack in the region–made Xander s eyes widen in disbelief. Before he could respond, Kade waved a hand, and the enforcers hauled Xander away. His shouts faded as the doors closed behind
him.

shoulders softening as he stepped closer. “Arden,” he said gently, his voice low, “don‘ t misunderstand. I don’t usually handle things like this, but…”
I smiled faintly, placing a hand on his arm. “You handled it perfectly,” I assured him.
If it had been up to Xander, he would have never stopped his pursuit. But I was done with the chaos he brought into my life. I just wanted peace.
That evening, Kade organized a feast at the pack’s hall, inviting the parents from both our packs to finalize the details of our mating ceremony. This was also the first time I would meet his mother, the formidable former Luna of the Crescent
Moon Pack.
As I sat there waiting, my wolf, Vieve, paced anxiously in my mind, and I felt a bead of sweat trail down my temple. Kade, ever the calm Alpha, squeezed my
hand
under the carved wooden table. His voice
was a quiet murmur in my ear.

fret, Arden. My family already adores you.”
When the elders from both packs arrived, the room filled with the hum of voices. Kade’s mother, Luna Mireya, was the last to arrive, her aura commanding silence the moment she entered. When her piercing gaze fell on me, I held my breath. But to my surprise, her expression softened, and a warm smile broke through her usually stoic demeanor.
“So, this is the she–wolf who has captured my son’s heart,” she said, her voice rich. like honey yet edged with authority. She reached into the folds of her flowing cloak and pulled out a wooden box, intricately carved with the Shadowfang Pack‘ s sigil- a crescent and star surrounded by wolves.
