Chapter 27
Rogues were easy to fool, and they came as expected.
As the night of the Moon Goddess Ceremony unfolded, the mountain lay cloaked in an eerie silence, a calm that belied the storm brewing beneath. Tonight, we would have our justice. Every pack had left their territories seemingly vulnerable, an irresistible lure to the rogues who had plagued us for far too long. They slithered through the shadows, their eyes glinting with greed, thinking themselves clever, certain the only wolves left behind were the weak and unprepared.
From my hidden perch, I crouched low, my white fur glinting faintly under the moon‘ s soft light. Beside me was Damon, the Alpha King himself. His hulking form was taut with

Fools. I had waited for this, the moment when their arrogance would be shattered.
“They’re ours now, Malinda. Tonight, we end this,” Damon‘ s voice cut through the silence, deep and steady in my mind.
I let out a rumbling growl of agreement, feeling the strength of our connection–the unity of my packmates, each mind linking as one. With a swift nod from Damon, we rose from the shadows.
The first strike was swift, brutal. A rogue, too distracted by the sight of the empty
packhouse, didn’t see the flash of fur and fangs that barreled into him. A gray wolf, one of Damon’s finest warriors, tackled him, their bodies colliding with a sickening thud as teeth and claws tore into flesh.

enclosing the rogues in a deadly circle.
I lunged forward, feeling the thrill of battle surge through me, my claws slicing into the side of a rogue who tried to flee. He let out a strangled yelp, stumbling as I pressed forward, sinking my teeth into his shoulder with deadly precision. He writhed, desperation flaring in his eyes, but I held him firm, relishing his panicked struggle.
All around me, the warriors of the allied packs surged into battle, their snarls and growls filling the air. Wolves tore into the rogues with a vengeance, their jaws snapping, claws ripping through fur and flesh. Blood hung thick in the air, and beneath the chaotic clash of bodies, I felt the ground tremble as we moved together, a single force of nature. Another rogue lunged at me from behind, his

and lunging with ietnai precision, while Kayden tackled a third, his teeth clamping down with a sickening crunch. My heart leapt as I watched them, the unity of their family- of our packs–making us unstoppable. The rogues began to falter, their confidence crumbling as they realized they were
hopelessly outnumbered. Some scrambled to escape, but every path was blocked, closing in tighter with each attempt.
Another rogue attempted to sneak up on me, but Damon was there in an instant, his dark wolf a blur of speed and strength. He met the rogue mid–leap, his jaws locking around the rogue’s throat. With a swift, brutal shake, he tossed him aside, his eyes glinting with cold finality.
“Stay close, Malinda.” Damon’s voice was

them touch you.”
But my blood was boiling, my wolf surging forward with a feral hunger for justice. I met Damon’s gaze and nodded before locking eyes with another rogue, his face twisted in defiance as he dared to approach. I lunged, my paws pounding the ground as I closed the distance. He tried to dodge, but I was faster, colliding with him in a flurry of fur and fury.
I slashed his side, my claws tearing deep, and as he struggled, I clamped down on his hind leg, dragging him back. This one wouldn’t escape. None of them would. My heart raced with adrenaline, each bite and slash fueling my need to protect, to avenge.
Around me, the mountain was alive with the clash of bodies, the pack members‘ fierce resolve driving them forward, refusing mercy.

through flesh, his determination relentless.
The rogues, once so certain of their power, now fell back in panic, desperate to escape the trap they’d so willingly walked into. Some pinned their ears, tails tucked as they tried to surrender. But the warriors of the Moonlight Pack showed no mercy, forcing them back into the clearing, leaving no room for forgiveness.
In a brief moment of respite, I caught sight of Francis and Kayden once more, their
movements perfectly synchronized as they took down another rogue attempting a
desperate escape.
This is only the beginning, I told myself, my heart still racing, my wolf restless, ready for more. The battle wasn‘ t over; this was
