“Mom, that was childhood stuff. I have my own plans for the company’s development. Bella can help me. Alice knows nothing about it.”
Danielle kept insisting, trying to justify his actions.
Mom closed her eyes in disappointment.
“From childhood till now, in what way is Alice inferior to you? She’s kind, smart, and sensible. If you weren’t misled by Bella, the company in your hands would flourish.”
“But look at you now. You’re willing to turn against your sister and mom for a deceitful outsider.”
I looked at the absurd scene before me, filled with sadness.
The brother who once stood up for me has long been lost in Bella’s sweet words and personal interests.
Bella suddenly started crying, “I knew it, you’ve never truly seen me as part of the family. If that’s the case, why adopt me in the first place?”
Her tearful display only sickened me.
“Enough!” Mom shouted, “Bella, even now you show no remorse. Get out of Alice’s house. And you, Danielle, from today, you are not the company’s heir. I’ll entrust the company to Alice. She’s the one truly worthy.”
Danielle looked at mom in disbelief, as if hearing a joke.
He wanted to say more, but mom waved him off.
“Take Bella and leave. I hope one day you’ll realize family is the most precious thing in the world, and you destroyed it with your own hands.”
Watching my brother and Bella leave, I leaned into mom’s embrace, finally letting my tears flow.
This family drama left everyone hurt.
But thankfully, mom stood by me.
Two days later, my brother found out the truth from Cora during a prison visit.
While I was handling business affairs, my brother burst into my office.
He was no longer as confident as before.
Syeing me, he felt awkward.
