Chapter 6
The next day, at school…
The teacher introduced Lily to the class as a new transfer student. As soon as she sat down, Lily started mentally complaining.
“Once I sit down, I’m sure Sophia will deliberately move my chair, making me fall and embarrass myself.”
The classmates who could hear Lily’s thoughts were shocked. She hadn’t said a word, but they could clearly hear her inner voice. They all turned to look at me, wondering if I would actually do what she thought I would.
Sure enough, as Lily walked over and was about to sit, my body moved of its own accord, pulling the chair away from under her.
“Don’t sit just yet.”
Everyone, including the teacher, watched in disappointment as I moved the chair. But when they heard me speak, they all seemed confused. They assumed I was going to accuse Lily of something, but instead, I just wiped the chair clean.

I quickly grabbed the sleeve of my uniform and wiped off some dust from the chair, smiling awkwardly.
“It’s dirty. Better clean it before sitting.”
The teacher and classmates visibly relaxed. Oh, so I just wanted to clean the chair for Lily, not set her up after all.
“Lily, Sophia’s so nice to you!”
“Yeah, looks like you’re really valued at home. Sophia’s looking out for you!”
Even the teacher agreed.
Lily, still suspicious, stared at me.
“You were planning to make me fall, weren’t you? Why are you acting like this now?!”
I shook my head, playing innocent.
“I didn’t think that at all. You misunderstood me!”
With so many people watching, Lily hadn’t actually fallen, and there was no way to prove anything.
After thinking for a moment, Lily begrudgingly sat down, ready for the next part of her plan.
“Even though I don’t have evidence right now, just wait. After class, Sophia’s minions will find a love letter in my desk and make me look like I’m after the top student. That’ll make him dislike me right away.”
The classmates who could hear her thoughts frowned.
I was still breathing a sigh of relief from the earlier incident, oblivious to the strange looks I was now getting from my classmates.
During the break, my two best friends came over to talk to me. One of them gave me a knowing look.
“Sophia, everything’s ready. Just nod, and I’ll make it happen.”
I suddenly remembered a part of the plot I hadn’t considered, something to do with Samuel Knight, the straight–A student who was also our cold and distant top student.
I couldn’t control myself and ended up nodding, though my mouth said, “No, don’t do it!”
But the events unfolded exactly as they were meant to.
“Lily, what did you bring with you today? What’s that in your
desk?”
Samuel, who had been trying to help Lily, was interrupted by my sudden confession.
As he spoke, someone pulled out the love letter from Lily’s desk and started reading it aloud.
“Samuel, hello. The first time I saw you, it felt like I had met you in a dream. I really like you and hope we can become friends. From, Ms.
Davis.”
I froze in my seat, realizing that Ms. Davis was referring to me.
When Lily came back, of course, it was Lily who was being accused now. The entire class was looking at me differently.
So everything Lily had said in her head was true.
Some students started whispering amongst themselves.
“I can’t believe Sophia is like this.”
“Why is she doing this? She’s been living in Lily’s place for years and still bullies her!”

Even Samuel frowned, walked over to me, grabbed the letter, and threw it in the trash.
“Lily’s only been here for a day. She’s not the type to do something like this. Whoever is behind this needs to stop now.”
Finally, the real plot seemed to be playing out, and Lily slumped over the desk, crying with frustration.
The classmates, sensing an injustice, started to feel sympathy for her and began turning on me.
“Hey, Sophia, that’s too much. She’s your family!”
“Yeah, you’re just jealous. Besides, everything you have was originally Lily’s!”
I felt like I was drowning in a sea of angry comments.
I had no choice but to explain, “Okay, fine. I did write that letter!”
The moment I admitted it, the classroom erupted with even more criticism.
“But,” I added quickly, “I meant to have Lily pass it to Samuel on her first day. Since you all know now…”
I gritted my teeth, reached into the trash can to retrieve the letter, bowed slightly, and handed it to Samuel with both hands.
“Samuel, I like you! Will you be my friend?”
The class exploded into chaos.
“Ah, so it was Sophia who liked Samuel!”
“That explains the ‘Ms. Davis‘ signature! We almost got it wrong.”
Even students from the next class started crowding around to see what was going on.
“What’s happening? Who’s confessing?”
“There’s a love confession! Go check it out!”
The hallway outside the classroom was packed, and even Samuel’s face turned red up to his neck.
“Say yes, say yes!”
Lily, slamming her hand on the desk, yelled, “Shut up! That’s not what’s happening! She wrote that letter to humiliate me, Samuel! She doesn’t actually like you! Don’t let her fool you!”
People in the class who didn’t know what was going on were confused.
“What’s up with Lily? Is she just trying to get attention?”
Samuel, still staring at me in disbelief, glanced at me in confusion.
To prove my point, I grabbed his tie and tugged him forward. Then I gently kissed his left cheek.
Immediately, Samuel’s face turned even redder, like a lobster being boiled.
The classroom exploded again, Jouder than before.
Lily, her eyes wide in disbelief, screamed, “Sophia, what are you doing? Are you insane?!”
But I didn’t answer her. I just looked at Samuel with a determined gaze.
“Samuel, what do you say?”
He stammered, his face still crimson, “I… I will think about it.”
At that moment, the teacher, drawn by the commotion, came into the room. Upon learning the situation, she called me to the office for a long
talk.
I could only nod in agreement. What else could I do? This was the only way I could diffuse the crisis.
