Chapter 5
Lily began to question why things weren’t going according to the original plot.
She found me alone and confronted me.
“You’re trying to make it look like I pushed you down the stairs, aren’t you? And in the mall, you deliberately stole something to frame me, right? What changed? Why did you suddenly change your mind?”
I met her furious gaze and calmly poured myself a cup of coffee.
“Let me ask you. Why do you always think I’m the bad guy?”
She opened her mouth but couldn’t come up with a response.
According to the plot, I was supposed to be the evil adopted one, eventually taking all of the family’s wealth for myself. Meanwhile, Lily, whose thoughts could be heard by everyone and who knew the plot, would be loved by everyone and would stop all of it from happening.
“You say you’re not a bad person. Fine. Tomorrow, when I go to school, prove it to me.”
After Lily left, I started to feel a headache coming on.
I had almost forgotten…that the original Sophia was two–faced. At home, she bullied Lily with fake sympathy, but at school, she openly
isolated and ostracized her.
What was I supposed to do now?
