I sat up, my breaths heavy as my chest rose and fell, unsteadily. Tears slipped from my eyes as despair crept deeper grabbed my chest as if to ease the pain I felt, but it was of no use.
What kind of ease could 1 possibly feel when I just watched my mate get killed?

I looked down at my legs and noticed the duvet that covered me on the bed. Sweat trickled down my neck from the heat in the room, and from the fear growing in my heart.
What I just experienced looked too real. But Eros couldn’t be dead. I would know, right?

I winced as a slight pain stung my head, and I sofily placed my palm on it “Where am I?” I asked, my voice was croaky.

The closer I got to the door, the more I heard loud growls. There was also clashing of swords. My fear grew. Was there a fight outside?

It was some kind of training. In the middle of the clearing, two young werewolves circled each other, their gaze fixed. It was as
if one was waiting for the other to make a move. For a long moment, each one predicted the other’s steps.
With a loud cry, one of them struck. He swung his claws at the other, who immediately dodged the attack. It was a good match, but I had no interest in it.
I looked away; it was then I noticed the state some of the people were in. Some of them were injured, while others were

This was something like a refugee camp, somewhere people who’d escaped from a war in a dangerous place ran to.
A loud murmur soon broke out among the crowd. I look back at them to see that they had noticed me. As soon as I faced them, everything quieted.
The warriors who had been at each other’s throats stopped, and the sound of clashing swords came to a halt instantly.
I moved a step forward, and the crowd parted immediately. I felt a great sense of respect from the people, but refused to think much about it.
“My baby.” I reminded myself and quickened my pace. Few distance from the crowd, 1 saw two women seated on a fallen tree stump. Their backs were against me.
One of them held a child swaddled in thick clothes in her arms, while another leaned into the child, smiling widely.
Tiara suddenly jerked within me, wagging her tail. “Our pup!”
I knew immediately that the child in the arms of the other woman was mine “My baby.” I cried out in joy.
One of the women turned, it was Beauty. Her eyes widened in surprise as she stood up immediately and hurried to my side.
“Eden. Are you alright?” She asked.
I nodded my head. Only then did I see the other woman’s face.
Mother. She was here, and alive!
“Mom!” I gasped, rushing to meet her. She smiled, standing up with the baby against her body.
“Honey” My mother called. “You are awake.”
We shared a brief hug, and then she handed the baby over to me. I took my son, and a strange feeling gripped me. Tiara and I cooed as we stared at the cute face of our son.
I placed my last finger in his, and he gripped it immediately as he let out a small smile, almost as if he knew that I was its
mother.
