(Eden’s Pov)
Lyra heaved a breath of relief.
“I finally got to pull myself out of these, she said as she shrugged off the hoodie and threw it to the side.
She flexed her muscles and gave me
e a smirk.
“We meet again, finally Lyra said with a smile.
It was alarming. The way she acted as if we just met over a friendly house dinner, as if she hadn’t just captured me moments ago, and where were the rogues who’d captured me? Also what has Olivia got to do with Lyra? Were they working together!
“What are you doing here?” I asked with a frown.
Somewhere at the back of my head, I knew I should still be on the run, because for as long as I can remember, Lyra has loathed me all her life. Talking with her wasn’t a wise decision, but I had questions…
Lyra chuckled.
“Why do I need to explain myself to you?” She asked.
I scowled. “You and Alice disappeared. No one knew where you were.” I spat
She laughed so hard that a tear streaked from her eyelid “Well, let’s just say that my father kept me well hidden.”
Lyra was nothing short of an evil person right now. It showed in her demeanor.
I looked at her protruding belly “You’re also pregnant,” I said softly.
Lyra shrugged and her gaze fell on mine. “Just like you.” She scoffed, and rubbed her stomach. “I think mine’s a bit shy. It’s taking longer than expected. This is the sixth month.”
My eyes widened.
“That’s a lot,” I said.
Lyra narrowed her gaze on me. “You weren’t pregnant when I left. How far along are you?”
I smiled. “Four months.”
However, I kept the information about my contraction a secret.
There was a small pause between us, and in that moment, I felt a small feeling of understanding pass between us.
Maybe it was that motherly affection for our child that we both shared.
But as fast as it came, it went away because Lyra suddenly smirked. She pulled a knife from somewhere in her clothes, and I saw her eye color change slightly as her claws elongated. She began to circle me.
I should run. I know I should.
But what if 1 harm my child in the process? I knew I wasn’t fit for a struggle. I was beginning to lose strength, and the contraction pain would come as quickly as it goes. I was still in pain and could only clench my fist tightly.
“Meeting me again is your greatest undoing. Say your last prayers, I’ll be the last person you see before you kiss the earth goodbye.” Lyra growled, causing me to shudder.
I swallowed “Okay, I’ve always wanted to know why you hated me so much? What did I ever do to you?” I asked, looking at my

surroundings for an advantage.
Lyra snorted “Well, because you were gullible and an easy target in school. I hated seeing your pathetic–innocent face in the hallway, and all boys ogle at you. Besides I saw how my mom always treated your mom, and I wanted to explore my power–it was fun, until you tried snagging Theo from me. Nahl I wasn’t going to let that happen.” she clapped her palms, while staring at me intently “Theo was meant to be mine, or so i’d thought. But the moment I took Theo from you.. you went clawing your nails for something higher. You f*cking went for Prince Eros! How dare you?”
“Oh, please! The moon goddess took your evil to repay me for good. You got my leftovers, while I got the most important creature in the realm!” I said with confidence.
Lyra bit her lips until it bled “And that’s an error I’m about to correct. Did you think that I would keep being Luna to a mNI made an Alpha, while you become Queen of the entire realm. No, I deserve more, not you!”
“Oh, you want to be Queen too. That’s quite delusional, because my mate would never accept you as his Queen.” I said through clenched teeth.
Lyra laughed hysterically, “Oh, you’ve got it all wrong. As we speak, Pison and Eros are fighting for the throne. We also have the entire palace surrounded by rogues, so there’s no escaping. Eros falls today, and my Pison would be crowned King and I. Queen. Our little pup,” she smiled, caressing her stomach “would be a little prince or princess.”
Tiara growled, and before I could comprehend her statement, Tiara shifted midair and attacked Lyra whose eyes widened in surprise.
She wasn’t expecting it. The knife she held flew to the side.
Before Lyra could shift completely, I tackled her to the ground and held her down about to take a bite out of her flesh, but Lyra shifted into her wold and slipped out of my grasp.
We locked in another attack and fought tirelessly, each one of us protecting our pup.
The clouds had gone dark, and suddenly it began to rain.
Our wolves snapped and growled at each other. It was an equal match. What Tiara had in strength and size, Lyra made up for it in skill and speed.
Lyra’s wolf kept swiping her claws at Tiara’s belly, attacking it. It was a low blow. In defense, Tiara kicked Lyra’s wolf off with all her strength.
Her wolf flew across the air and landed on the floor with a loud howl. Immediately, Lyra took over and she screamed in pain.
She just had a contraction.
Lyra stretched out a hand. “Help… please the baby…” She pleaded looking at me with soft eyes.
At first I was confused. If I wanted to kill her, this was the perfect time.
I should end it all, here and now.
Tiara stalked towards Lyra, she bared her teeth and snapped at Lyra who cried louder.
Compassion overwhelmed me and I willed Tiara to let me shift back. I pulled Lyra to the tree behind her and positioned her against it.
“Take deep breaths” I said slowly.
She obeyed, and all of a sudden, she screamed as another contraction hit. Mine was starting to crawl up my veins again but I pushed it down…
“Now push. Harder.” I forced myself to say.
