Eros frowned. “Come off it, Eden. I’m not in the mood.”
He’s not in the mood. That was his answer.
He didn’t deny my accusations.
He wasn’t saying that he didn’t love Susie or that he wasn’t having an affair with her. He just said he’s not in the mood. He was trying to avoid questions.
Eros slightly tugged the clothes away from his skin.
I could see he was not comfortable, but I couldn’t care less. I needed answers, and I will get them no matter what.
I poked his chest with my finger again. “I don’t care what kind of mood you are in. You have no choice. Answer my questions.”
Eros grabbed my hand and threw it to the side. “Please stop!” He shouted. “What is wrong with you? Why must you make a big deal out of this?”
“You are everything wrong with me!” I gasped. “You and Susie. What is so special about her that you can’t stay away from her?”
Eros watched me with a blank expression.
The tears kept flowing. I saw him swallow hard before he looked away.
“Susie and her father have offered to help me become king, only if I accept to make her my mate.” He paused and allowed that information to sink in. “I don’t know what you think you saw, but I was telling her it would be impossible”
I chuckled. “And you want me to believe those lies?”
“Eden!” Eros said in warning.
“Why? Did you think I would easily believe those lies of yours like a fool? Do you think I’m a joke?‘ I shouted. “You left me all alone just so you could roll around in the rain with another woman!”
“At least she had something to offer that you couldn’t!” Eros fired back.
I stopped talking. The words he just spoke hit me hard.
He just said I had nothing to offer.
Eros paused, his face tightly set in a deadly frown
“Why would you say that to me?” I was deeply hurt.
“All you do is complain. Susic was only trying to help, but you decided to make a big deal out of nothing. The only thing you do is nag.”
That minute I lost it. I slapped Eros hard across his face. The sound filling the room, and we looked at each other in shock. Eros touched his face, the disbelief clear as day.
I stared at my hands, my eyes tearing up immediately “I’m sorry,” I said quickly.
Eros ignored me. He just turned around and stormed out of the room.
1 hurried after him, but Eros was moving too fast; I was unable to catch up.
Soon, we were out in the rain. The rain fell against my skin, and I shivered.
“Eros!” I called out desperately. “I’m sorry. Please come back.”

Suddenly, I felt dizzy, and tried to steady myself, but it was impossible. The world spun around me, and my sight became
blurred.
“Eros,” I called sofily as I began to slip into the darkness of fatigue.
Before I finally gave in, I saw a figure like Eros’s, but the warmth was lacking when he took me into his arms.
