Chapter 126
Antonio couldn’t help but feel lost as he watched the affectionate bickering between the two.
He clutched the IV tube so tightly that the drips couldn’t get through, and his blood began to flow backward.
Yet, he seemed to feel no pain, staring intently inside the ward..
Grace’s relaxed and gentle demeanor was something Antonio had only seen in his dreams.
In reality, whenever she was with him, she was as still as a block of wood. Her gaze often held affection, but her words were always cold and emotionless.
As Antonio brooded in jealousy, a nurse, finishing her rounds, caught sight of the blood–stained tube and rushed over with a scream.
“Oh my, let go! Don’t you feel the pain?”
The commotion caught Grace’s attention. She turned her head and saw Antonio outside the window with a sour face.
“What is he doing here?” A flicker of confusion crossed Grace’s mind.
After just a brief glance, she turned back, sat down, and dozed off while holding Devin’s hand.
After more than an hour of sleep, Grace awoke with a yawn to find Devin also asleep in bed. She hurriedly placed his hand back under the quilt

She then noticed that the glass was empty, so she picked up the kettle and was about to refill it. Just as she looked up, she saw Antonio.
He was still standing by the window, his posture unchanged. However, his expression turned even darker than just now.
Grace had no idea what he was up to and didn’t bother to find out. She pushed open the door and headed towards the water room.
Antonio pushed his drip stand and followed her. He called out to her several times, but she acted as if she hadn’t heard him.
This blatant disregard ignited the anger within him, and he couldn’t stand it any longer.
He shouted, “Grace, stop right there!”
His outburst woke the nurse at the front desk and startled Grace.
Grace didn’t want to provoke him and disturb the other patients, so she could only stop walking.
“What do you want?”
Her indifferent expression was a stark contrast to the tender concern she had shown an hour ago. This further soured Antonio’s already turbulent
emotions.
He could no longer contain himself and blurted out the question that had been weighing on his mind.
“Is your relationship with Devin real or fake?”
Grace didn’t expect him to ask such a question and was silent for a
moment.

“We’ve got our marriage certificates, so how could it be fake?”
Her words sank Antonio’s heart completely.
However, he refused to accept it. He stared straight at Grace, trying not to miss a single change in her expression.
“Do you love him?”
This question hit straight to Grace’s heart.
She tilted her head and pondered for a long moment.
Then she slowly nodded and replied in a firm tone, “Yes, I do. He’s my husband, so of course I love him.”
Antonio’s face instantly drained of color.
He said in a shocking tone, “You’ve only been married to him for a month!”
“So what? We’re together day and night, sleeping in the same bed. In this way, affection grows easily.”
Antonio felt as if a boulder had lodged in his chest, making it hard to breathe.
He moved his lips but couldn’t utter a word, his eyes brimming with jealousy and rage.
Seeing his silence, Grace didn’t want to waste any more time. She turned to refill the kettle and then headed back to the ward.
As they were about to pass each other, Antonio grabbed her hand.
Then he said in an unquestionable tone, “Divorce him!”

Held back by him, Grace couldn’t help but look up at him with an expression as if he were insane.
“Divorce? That’s impossible. I’ve made up my mind to be with him for life.”
Her words broke all the illusions Antonio had been clinging to.
For the first time, he realized that Grace was irreplaceable to him.
This finally occurred to him after he had lost her completely, and it wast
too late.
The thought of her never coming back to him made Antonio feel like the world was crashing down.
No longer caring for his pride, he looked at her with pleading eyes.
“Grace, leave him and come back to me, please?”
