roared, sharp and fierce when he step out of
the room.
He didn’t wait for a response; pack members already sprang into action, forming a blockade around Marco. Jacob turned on his heel, storming out of the room, his fury filling the hallway like a dark cloud. I followed close behind, feeling every ounce of
his anger.
Trailing him was Mandy, her eyes wide with fake concern, playing the role she’d perfected. “Alpha, what’s wrong? Talk to me,” she pleaded, her voice full of practiced worry. But he ignored her, fists clenched, mind racing.
We rounded a corner, and there was Lucas, waiting. His eyes narrowed as he took in Tacob‘ s face. “What happened?” Lucas‘ s

voice was calm but sharp, his posture was
tense.
Jacob’s response was instant. He shoved Lucas hard, his voice shaking with rage.
“You! You think you‘ re better than me?” he snarled, venting his anger in every word.
Lucas didn’t back down. He met Jacob’s gaze head–on. “I was just waiting for you to see the truth, Alpha. You were blind, all for her,” he nodded toward Mandy. “Too blind to see what she’d done to Bella.”
The words hit hard, but Jacob didn’t back down. He swung at Lucas, aiming for his jaw, but Lucas was faster, ducking and throwing a punch to Jacob’s stomach, making him double over.
“Don’t talk about her. You know nothing,”

Jacob growled, his voice raw. He
straightened, wiping blood from his mouth,
his eyes blazing with rage.
Mandy rushed forward, her face pale, her voice pleading. “Stop it! Please!” She grabbed Jacob’s arm, but he shook her off. He looked at her with a fury she couldn’t dismiss.
“You‘ re the reason she’s gone,” he said, his voice low and cold.
Mandy froze, shock and fear flashing across her face. “No, Alpha, I-‘

“You made Marco kill her! You did this!” Jacob’s hand moved fast, the slap echoing as it struck her face.
Mandy staggered, her hand covering her
cheek, her eyes wide with tears. She looked

broken, her mask of innocence shattered.
Jacob stared, his voice dropping to a whisper.
“You lied to me… made me believe you needed me, that I could trust you. But you‘ re the reason she’s dead.”
Lucas stepped between them, facing Jacob with a steady gaze. “Enough, Alpha,” he said, his voice calm but firm.
Jacob’s face twisted with fresh rage. “Get out of my way!” he shouted, shoving Lucas, but Lucas held firm.
Lucas didn’t flinch, his voice quiet and sharp. “Bella would never forgive you for this.”
Jacob froze at her name, his anger wavering, replaced for a moment by grief. But his voice came back, rough and defiant. “You don’t get to talk about Bella. You don’t know what

it’s like to lose her.”
Lucas‘ s face hardened. “I know exactly what it’s like. I loved her too. But unlike you, I didn‘ t betray her.”
That did it. Jacob lunged, both men colliding in a fury of fists and claws. They rolled across the ground, each too consumed by anger to stop. I wanted to scream, to make them stop, but I was helpless, trapped in silence.
Mandy backed away, horror in her eyes as she watched them. She tried to scream, but her voice was lost in the chaos.
Lucas landed a hard punch to Jacob’s face, but Jacob recovered, grabbing him by the throat and slamming him down. “She was my mate!” Jacob shouted, his voice raw. Lucas choked, his voice rasping under

Jacob‘ s grip. “And you let her die. You didn’t deserve her!”
For a second, I thought Jacob might actually kill him. His hands tightened, his eyes wild, but then something flickered in his expression—regret, or maybe grief. He slowly released his grip, stumbling back, his shoulders sagging.
Lucas lay on the ground, breathing hard but not moving to attack. His gaze held disappointment… and maybe pity.
Jacob stood there, his hands trembling, his voice barely a whisper. “I lost her. I lost Bella…”
