Chapter 9
Olivia’s POV
Morning light slipped through the gaps in the curtains, gently caressing my face.
I awoke from my bed, immediately feeling a pang of hunger.
So much had happened last night. I’d only had a couple of drinks and barely eaten anything.
Now, this emptiness in my stomach urged me to get up.
After freshening up, I made my way to the packhouse’s dining area.
Entering the dining hall, I hoped to find some solace from my acquaintances in the pack, but what greeted me was indifference.
The guards who had fought alongside me carried trays past me.
They merely glanced my way, one of them offering a slight nod.
None of them initiated a greeting.
The respect they once held for me was gone.
I knew it was because of Marsh.
His affair with Emily had hurt not only our mating bond but also my prestige within the pack.
I walked into the dining area where an Omega was busy flipping eggs behind the buffet counter, spreading butter on toast.

I approached with a smile. “Could you please give me some toast and eggs?”
He lifted his gaze from the pan, glanced at me, and then returned to his task as if he hadn’t heard.
I was taken aback. When I spoke again, my tone was with the authority of a Luna. “Prepare my breakfast immediately.”
He finally put down his spatula and turned. “Can’t you get it yourself?”
His words were like a slap in the face.
I felt a humiliation I had never experienced before.
My wolf growled in anger within my mind.
Because of Marsh and Emily, my authority as Luna had been severely undermined.
It was clear that the pack no longer held me in high regard.
The surrounding pack members began to whisper, their glances pricking at my back.
I could feel the tension in the air, but I couldn’t show any weakness at this
moment.
Suppressing my anger, I looked at him coldly. “How dare you speak to me like that? Don’t forget, I am the Luna of this pack.”
At the same time, I let my wolf unleash my Alpha aura.
The Omega’s face turned pale.
Meanwhile, a familiar voice reached my ears.
Chapter 9
I looked over to see Marsh and Emily in the farthest corner of the dining hall, seemingly arguing.
As they argued, they walked towards me, drawing the attention of the pack members.
When they saw it was Marsh, some quickly left the dining area.
Emily’s face turned even uglier upon seeing me.
She turned to glare at Marsh. “I’m leaving the Dawn Pack. I’m going to the mall. Don’t follow me!”
“Wait, Emily!” Marsh’s face showed concern.
He ignored my presence, trying to catch up with Emily.
I grabbed Marsh’s arm and said, “Wait, Alpha Marsh, I need to talk to you.”
Marsh’s eyes quickly scanned my face, his expression shifting from confusion to anxiety.
I could feel his urgency to follow Emily, but I had matters that needed settling first.
My voice was calm and firm. “I plan to take a business trip to the Blackthorn Pack, discussing the project with Alpha Zander. So for the next few days, I’ll not be here.”
His eyes immediately sharpened, jealousy and anger interweaving in his
gaze.
“You can’t go. You’re my Luna. How can you leave the pack for days?!”
I sneered, looking directly into his eyes. “Humph, now you remember that I’m your Luna. That’s a funny story. Wake up, Marsh! Can’t you see

nobody here show me any respect? All thanks to your betrayal!”
Marsh’s face darkened. He took a step forward, his voice threatening. “Whatever. I am the Alpha of this pack. I forbid you to see Zander.”
I met his gaze fearlessly. “Did you forget what Zander said about the Los Angeles project? Are you telling me you want to miss this rare chance that can bring great benefits to our pack? Like you said, you’re the Alpha. Then act like one.”
He was taken aback by my words.
Marsh took a deep breath, trying to compose himself. “Even so, you can’t go. I will go discuss it with Zander.”
“He’s not satisfied with you. Did you forget his attitude yesterday?” I said mockingly.
Marsh’s face turned ugly, a mix of anger and embarrassment at being exposed.
“We can live without the project.” Marsh clenched his fist as if making a hard decision.
I laughed coldly, “Are you serious? When is the last time you check our company’s situation? Do you even know it has been badly run recently?”
Marsh’s face turned strange instantly.
Obviously, my mention of the company’s crisis took him by surprise.
“What happened to the company?”
I stepped closer, my voice laced with sarcasm. “Perhaps you should pay more attention to the company rather than your lover.”
A flicker of guilt crossed Marsh’s eyes, quickly replaced by panic.

He immediately said to Jeffrey, “Arrange a car for me now. I’m going to the company. And call a meeting with all the executives. We have an emergency to deal with.”
“Let’s talk when I get back.” Marsh said to me before leaving with Jeffrey.
I shrugged indifferently at him.
After I enjoyed a hearty breakfast alone, I went back to my room and quickly stuffed some necessities and documents into my suitcase.
I needed to be well–prepared for this trip.
When everything was done, I took out my phone and dialed Zander’s number.
However, he didn’t answer the call.
