Chapter 6
Olivia’s POV
I ignored him.
The party got even livelier as Alpha Zander’s deep and authoritative voice sounded again.
“However, I’ll only pick one main partner for this project. And that’s exactly why I’m here. To scope out and choose the right fit.”
I noticed Marsh’s face turned sour, a hint of anxiety flashing in his eyes.
Apparently, he was eager to get in on this deal with Alpha Zander.
But the awkward greeting he just pulled didn’t do him any favors.
Literally, he himself threw a rare chance down the drain. I guessed he must rack his brains trying to make up for it.
The guests around me were still engaged in heated discussion. After all, the collaboration with Alpha Zander would bring them anything they wanted–wealth, power, status, etc.
Just then, an Alpha around Marsh’s age stood up.
He took his date’s hand and approached Alpha Zander, introducing himself, “Nice to meet you, Alpha Zander. I’m Raymond, and this is Avila, my mate, and the one and only Luna of my pack.”
He stressed “the one and only Luna” on purpose. Guessed he had noticed what just happened between Marsh and Alpha Zander. So he was flaunting his fidelity and sticking with protocols to impress Alpha Zander.

“Nice to meet you, too,” Alpha Zander greeted back, a clear appreciation
in his tone.
With a smirk, Alpha Raymond went on, “Us werewolves value fidelity and respect. They’re my principles, too. If our pack is lucky enough to be your partner, my Luna and I will do everything we can to support your project.”
Suddenly, I felt a familiar aura.
I turned my head and, as expected, saw Marsh clenching his fists.
He was laser–focused on Alpha Raymond, totally oblivious to my stare.
Just as I was about to look away, my eyes caught Emily’s–she was glaring at me as if I were the one putting her on blast.
I shrugged, turning my focus back to the scene unfolding.
Right now, I couldn’t care less about her.
I came here not only to snag help from Zander but also to get acquainted with shifters from different packs.
The reason was simple: in this complicated society, having a solid network and alliances was just as significant as owning strength.
At first, I was kinda worried I would be made fun of as my Alpha had chosen to come with his mistress instead of me.
Now that Alpha Zander showed his dissatisfaction toward Marsh’s behavior, however, the others should’ve realized who they should side with.
Thus, quite a few guests came to greet me instead of Marsh and Emily.
I was down to mingle, so when people came up to me, I was all for it. But

after too many pleasantries, it got kinda draining.
Unlike me, Hannah hated occasions like these the most.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her face scrunched up. So I couldn’t help chuckling.
“If you excuse me, I gotta say hi to my friend over there,” I lied to the werewolf in front of me, as both Hannah and I needed a break.
Hannah smiled at me with relief, and we walked to the open bar together. The moment I swapped my glass of red wine for some juice, Emily stormed over.
“What the hell are you doing here?” she hissed.
“What? Can’t I be here?” I grinned after taking a sip of the juice.
My nonchalant attitude only fueled her anger.
“Have you no shame? Your mate chose me as his date. Of course you can’t be here!” she roared.
Hannah couldn’t help but fire back, “That should be Olivia’s line! You’re al damn mistress, while Alpha Zander only invited the Luna of each pack. Bitch!”
“Why did you just call me?”
I chuckled, “Oh, so you’re not only shameless but also deaf? Geez.”
Emily’s face twisted with rage. “Just you wait! I’m gonna call security and kick you two sluts out!”
I just shrugged. “Be my guest.”
Emily shot me a glare before running away.

After a while, she came back with two guards trailing her.
I scoffed, thinking, ‘Since she wants to embarrass herself, I’m all for it.‘
Pointing her finger at me, Emily piped up, “Alpha Zander’s invitation states that each invited pack can only have two representatives. Since Alpha Marsh and I are here on behalf of the Dawn Pack, she, who’s from the same pack as us, must’ve come uninvited. Security, kick her out!”
The two guards stepped forward, requesting, “Ma’am, we need you to leave.”
I glanced at Emily before casually pulling out my invitation from my bag. “You might wanna take a look at this.”
Emily sneered and snatched the invitation right out of my hand. “Oh, come on! This must be a fake!”
I couldn’t help laughing at her ridiculousness. “What a silly ass!”
“What’s going on here?”
Emily and I turned our heads at the same time to see Alpha Zander, who had strolled over without us noticing. He knitted his brows, looking confused.
Marsh quietly sidled over to Emily.
Noticing Alpha Zander, she immediately put on her flirty smile and briefed him on the whole situation.
“Alpha Zander, Olivia came with me,” Hannah chimed in to back me up.
“That doesn’t make her presence legit. She’s not from your pack. Only with Alpha Marsh’s permission can she be here!“. Emily shot back before winking at Marsh.

He stared at me with a scowl, snapping, “Emily’s right. I didn’t invite her, so she shouldn’t have come here.”
“I think there’s a misunderstanding.” Alpha Zander piped up.
When everyone present was feeling puzzled, he added with a smile, “I invited her personally.”
