Chapter 33
Olivia’s POV
Wendy opened the package, and inside was a designer dress.
There was also a card from Zander that read, “Claw me, claw thee.”
I chuckled and set the card aside, telling Wendy, “No need to order a gown for me anymore.”
Gotta admit, he was pretty thoughtful.
On the day of the auction, Zander’s car was waiting downstairs at Wonder Company at 6 PM, and I hadn’t even had time to change into my gown.
As soon as I arrived downstairs, I saw Zander in a slick white suit leaning against his Cayenne.
He had one hand in his pocket, the other holding his cellphone.
Perhaps hearing my footsteps, he looked up at me. His deep eyes sparkled, his thin lips curving into a half–smile. He said, “How about joining me for dinner?”
Even though I had seen many outstanding and handsome werewolves, I must admit that Zander was quite hot.
Just looking at his deep eyes made my heart race.
Now I could see why Zander was the most renowned Alpha in Los Angeles.
No wonder Emily, who had already won Marsh’s heart, wanted his

attention.
Snapping back to reality, I smiled back at him. “Why not?”
After dinner, he noticed that I wasn’t wearing any makeup or getting changed. So he took me to a private club.
I put on the starry black and navy–blue evening gown, and it fit me like it was custom–made.
“It’s beautiful,” I exclaimed. “Thank you for the dress, Alpha Zander.”
It could cost him over a million bucks.
“It’s my honor,” he replied, extending his hand.
I glanced at it, smiled, and placed mine in his palm.
Twenty minutes later, the Cayenne slowly stopped at the hotel entrance.
We stepped out of the car together and headed into the auction venue.
With all that buzz about Zander wooing me lately, our showing up together caused quite a stir. And the guests started whispering among themselves.
“Oh my goodness, Olivia really snagged Zander?”
“I think so. Have you noticed the dress on her? It looks like a haute couture! My cousin was planning to order it too, but it’s over 1.3 million. Way too expensive!”
“Wow, she’s quite something!”
“No kidding!”
I turned my head and saw Beta Jeffrey and Marsh entering behind us, just

in time to overhear all that chatter.
Beta Jeffrey furrowed his brows and instinctively glanced at Marsh beside him.
Marsh, looking totally unfazed as if he hadn’t heard anything, strolled straight to his seat and sat down.
I then averted my gaze and ignored them.
Since I was only here tonight to fulfill a promise, I had no interest in any of the items being auctioned off.
Zander seemed to be the same, as he remained quiet the whole time.
Sensing his gaze, I couldn’t help but turn my head to look at him. “Alpha Zander, did anything catch your eye?”
“Yeah,” he smirked as he picked up the mineral water beside him, leisurely twisted it open, and took a sip. Then, he looked at me with a teasing grin, adding, “But the one I have my eye on isn’t on auction.”
I knew what he meant, but I laughed lightly, pretending not to get it, “Oh, that’s a pity.”
“What about you, Ms. Johnson?” he asked in response, twirling his bidding paddle.
I wanted to shake my head, but the painting on the big screen sparked some interest in me.
“This oil painting is quite special.”
My father always enjoyed collecting oil paintings, and as soon as I saw this artwork, I thought he would like it.
He would visit LA in a few days, so it would be nice to buy it and

welcome him with a little surprise.
Yeah, that was how considerate I was.
Zander raised an eyebrow, asking, “You like it, Ms. Johnson?”
I glanced sideways at him. “I think my dad does.”
“Ah, I see.” He nodded thoughtfully but kept quiet after that.
It was a work by a famous American artist, with a starting price of 2 million dollars.
There weren’t many people interested, and after a few rounds of bidding, it only climbed up to 2.2 million.
After the venue fell silent for a few seconds, I finally raised my paddle. The auctioneer glanced at me and said, “This young lady bids 2.4 million. 2.4 million going once…” As soon as his voice fell, Marsh, who was not far
away, shot up his paddle. The auctioneer chanted again, “2.6 million
going once…”
Zander squinted his eyes and turned his head to look at me. “Need any help?”
I shook my head with a smile, replying, “Nope.”
I knew this painting’s worth well enough, and it would be overpriced if I bid 3 million.
But again, I did wanna surprise my dad, so I thought about it and added another 100,000.
“2.7 million from this young lady! 2.7 million going once!”
“2.8 million from this gentleman! 2.8 million!”

Marsh and I raised our paddles again and again as if competing with each other. In the end, this painting hit three million bucks.
I hummed, put down the paddle, and stopped bidding.
I wouldn’t spend that much money on a painting like a fool. If Marsh loved it that much, it was all his.
Zander smirked and said, “Let me snag it for you.”
As soon as I heard it, I reached out and stopped him from holding up his paddle. “Just let the easy touch pay.”
Upon hearing my words, Zander couldn’t help but laugh and put down his paddle. “Yes, madam.”
The venue fell quiet, and finally, the auctioneer sealed the deal with one strike. This oil painting was sold for 3 million.
Then I overheard Beta Jeffrey saying to Marsh, “This painting isn’t worth that much money.”
