Chapter 24
Olivia’s POV
“Ms. Johnson, are you off work? Do I have the honor to have dinner with you?” Hannah’s voice came through the phone.
“Why are you so free today?” I asked with a smile.
“I’ve familiarized myself with the work of the pack recently, so I’ve been quite free this month,” Hannah replied casually.
After pondering for a moment, I asked, “Where do you wanna go for dinner?”
“The Starry Night!” she exclaimed excitedly. “The new steakhouse that just opened.”
“I’ll be there in half an hour.”
“Cool, I’ll be waiting for you, Ms. Johnson.”
Half an hour later, I found Hannah at a booth at the steakhouse. My gaze fell on the plate of snacks on the table. “How long have you been waiting for me?”
“I’ve been here since I gave you the call.”
I shook my head helplessly and realized that she really had a lot of free time.
Then, I sat across from her and handed her the menu. “Order whatever you want. My treat.”
Chapter 24
“Sweet! That’s what I like to hear!” She grabbed the menu without
hesitation.
Once we ordered, Hannah looked up at me, wondering, “People say that Alpha Zander is wooing you. Is that true?”
I froze. “Where did you hear that?”
“From the folks in my pack. After he hosted the dinner banquet in LA last time, he connected with a bunch of other Alphas here,” Hannah said, her lip curling. “They said that when Alpha Zander met with others, he mentioned that he wanted to pursue you.”
I went silent, not sure how to respond.
I didn’t expect him to openly declare that!
Hannah stared at me for a while and couldn’t help but ask, “It must be true, right? Haven’t you received flowers today?”
Not planning to hide anything, I nodded. “Yeah, I have.”
Hannah immediately crossed her arms in front of her chest and leaned back in her seat. “I didn’t expect Alpha Zander to have this side. I thought he couldn’t find a mate because he was cold. But it turns out he knows how to win a girl’s heart.”
I shrugged. “Doesn’t really matter to me.”
Hannah countered, “But it does! The way he looks at you is different, and I saw it. In my opinion, you don’t have to turn him down so soon. Just take some time and see how things go.”
I pouted and replied, “Forget it. I don’t want to do that. I haven’t rejected Marsh yet.”
Hannah looked somewhat annoyed as I mentioned Marsh.
“What exactly does he want? He has Emily now. Why doesn’t he accept your rejection?”
“After I came back to Los Angeles, I hadn’t gone back to the Dawn Pack to talk to him about this matter yet.” I said as I picked up a glass of water and took a sip. “If we reject each other, we both will be weak for a while. Also, Marsh needs a Luna, and clearly. Emily can’t handle that role.”
Thinking back on those ridiculous expenses Emily had in the financial reports from the Dawn Pack made me smirk internally.
“So are you just gonna let him waste your time like this?” Hannah said. helplessly as she looked at me with concern.
I reached over and squeezed her hand gently. “He cares about his reputation and desires to maintain his authority as Alpha. If I keep embarrassing him, he’ll eventually agree.”
Although I said so, I wasn’t sure if Marsh would accept my rejection.
“Perhaps you can use Alpha Zander to achieve the goal,” Hannah suggested.
I slowly shook my head.
Currently, I wasn’t interested in Zander.
But he was getting more and more serious about pursuing me. He would send me different bouquets of artificial flowers every day, and he wasn’t shy about praising me in front of other werewolves.
In just days, this matter spread like wildfire among the packs in Los Angeles. However, I remained calm.
When it was time to attend the business banquet. I put on the black dress

that Wendy had prepared for me.
Though it was black, the cut was bold.
It hugged my curves perfectly, making me look sexy yet elegant.
As soon as I walked in, I caught a lot of guests‘ attention.
Hannah immediately walked over and leaned close to me, whispering in my ear, “Check out your nine o’clock.”
I turned my head and looked over, only to find it was Zander.
Since he was gazing my way while walking over, our eyes met.
“Ms. Johnson.”
In just two seconds, he was already in front of me.
Today, he rocked a red suit which usually screamed power and passion. The bright color clashed beautifully against his Alpha vibe, highlighting his undeniable leadership charm even more.
His handsome face, accentuated by the red suit, appeared even more resolute and determined, making it difficult for anyone to look away.
His eyes were sharp as if they could see through people’s minds. The faint smile tugging at his lips added a touch of mystery and allure to him.
Everyone present, whether they were members of his pack or not, was naturally drawn to him.
I beamed and greeted back, “Alpha Zander.”
“Don’t you like the flowers I sent you?”
He took a sip of red wine and looked at me with a half–smile.
Chapter 24
“Well, I do.”
“Then, why haven’t you accepted any of my invitations?”
Invitations?
I thought about all the bouquets that I’d given to the assistant without hesitation. Were there invitation cards inside?
I arched my brow, but my tone remained steady. “Sorry, Alpha Zander, I’ve been quite busy lately.”
He just smiled and said, “Well, how about dancing with me now? That wouldn’t be too much to ask, right?”
With that, he raised his hand to make an inviting gesture before I could respond.
Hannah had long stood aside to watch us with a meaningful look in her
eyes.
The news of Zander wooing me had spread among almost all the werewolves in Los Angeles.
So when he invited me to dance, many guests shifted their attention to us even though they were still chatting away.
