Chapter 12
Olivia’s POV
I drove the newly bought car back to the Dawn Pack.
Marsh and Emily seemed not back yet, while I wasn’t in the mood to look for them.
I went upstairs to take my luggage and loaded it into the car.
After it was done, I went back to my bedroom and fell into a deep slumber.
A while later, Hannah’s call awoke me from sleep.
“Sweetheart, long time no see. How about we have dinner together?”
“Hannah, we just met at noon.” I rubbed my forehead with a chuckle. “And we’re attending Alpha Zander’s banquet tonight.”
“Speaking of which, Alpha Zander seems to pursue you, right?” Hannah asked.
“Maybe, he sent me flowers today,” I said, casting a glance at the
bouquet. “But I don’t want a relationship now. My priority is to get away from Marsh.”
“Alpha Zander is in charge of the Blackthorn Pack, which totally puts Marsh in the shade. Are you really not interested in him?” she smiled.
“Let’s talk about that after I get my company back.” I quickly got off the bed to freshen up.
“Alright, see you tonight,” Hannah sighed.
“See you.” Although such social events were not my thing, I wouldn’t be absent today.
In the evening, I arrived at the banquet wearing the latest evening gown designed by Tomie.
The lake–blue dress was adorned with several diamonds, shimmering like the reflected light on the lake’s surface under the lights. My presence
attracted other guests‘ attention.
Hannah immediately came over upon seeing me. She preferred lively atmospheres than such formal social events.
“Speak of the devil. Alpha Zander asked me when you would come just now,” she said.
The second Hannah finished speaking, Alpha Zander stood right before.
- us.
“Good evening, Luna Olivia,” Alpha Zander smiled at me slightly. His suit today was also designed by Tomie.
“Good evening, Alpha Zander.” I showed a polite smile.
“You can call me Zander.” He looked at me intently with deep eyes.
“But we are not that close,” I said hastily.
“May I have the honor of this dance? Perhaps you will get to know me better.” Alpha Zander politely extended his arm, making a bow of invitation.
I intended to refuse him at first, but the music at the venue changed to a tango right at the moment.

The familiar melody reminded me of some great parts of the past, so I nodded, placing my hand on his hand, and followed him onto the dance.
floor.
Alpha Zander and I seemed to be in sync. When we danced to the music, my skirt fluttered along with our steps.
As the song went on, other dancing guests made way for us.
We then became the focus of the entire venue.
I looked around and my gaze fell on Marsh standing in the corner.
He looked at us with a gloomy expression, his lips tightly pursed.
“You seem a bit distracted.” Zander’s voice brought my attention back.
“Sorry, I was thinking about Emily coming to your room this morning.” I made an excuse.
I was a beat late on the dance steps, but soon I caught up with his pace.
Zander smiled gently, “She came to see me, but out of an ulterior motive.”
“What happened? I saw her running out in a panic?”
“She wanted to be my Luna.” He chose a delicate way to say that, and of course, I got what it meant. “She spoke ill of you, trying to sway me. But I’m not easily manipulated.”
I looked at Zander with some surprise.
I didn’t expect him to defend me and believe in me.
This was something my mate Marsh never did.
I followed his lead and swiveled with the music.
“Did Marsh show up there by chance?” I continued to ask doubtfully.
“I had my man inform Marsh. I think he knew what Emily came for.” His tone revealed a hint of coldness.
“Don’t worry. I’ve taken care of it.” His voice conveyed confidence. “Now, we should focus more on our plan.”
I nodded, feeling Zander’s steady and strong arms. “You’re right.”
“After the dinner party, I will tell you our schedule in detail,” he
whispered. Then we continued dancing to the music, and his words filled. me with anticipation.
At the end of the song, I declined Alpha Zander’s invitation to another dance and walked back to Hannah.
“It’s so boring here,” Hannah complained, holding a glass of red wine.
“Give me a second. I need to use the lady’s room. Then we can go back. The main job tonight is done anyway,” I said to her.
Most people were in the banquet hall now, so both the corridor and restroom were empty.
However, when I walked out, I saw a man standing by the corridor.
That was Marsh.
He turned his head to glance at me. I just walked straight past him, without saying anything.
“Alpha Zander is not as simple as you think. He’s dangerous.”
Marsh’s cold voice came and I paused my steps.
I looked back at him, asking, “Are you talking to me?”

“I am still your mate and your Alpha.” His tone carried obvious dissatisfaction.
I brushed my loose curls and sneered, “Thanks for reminding me. I can even survive the rotten mating bond, so I don’t think any danger can kill me easily.”
With that, I saw Marsh’s expression stiffen, a faint smile crossing my lips.
Calmly looking at him for a few seconds, I walked away on high heels.
