Chapter 7
Trix’s POV
My emotions were running high, and the crowd was starting to take notice. Leroy, clearly nervous, leaned closer and growled under his breath, “Why are you making a scene? The terms I’m offering are more than fair. You need to save Lauren.”
I met his gaze with an icy stare, a smirk tugging at the corner of my mouth.
“And who are you to tell me what I ‘need‘ to do?”
“Mr. Hurst, maybe you haven’t heard- but soon enough, you‘ ll be struggling just to save yourself.”
Leroy froze for a moment, then let out a scornful laugh. “Quit playing games. You‘ re just a street food vendor. What could you possibly know?”
“It seems you really don’t know a thing

about me, Mr. Hurst.”
Just then, Iris rushed over, a bit of urgency in her step. “Trix! Everyone’s waiting for you to give the opening speech. What are you doing over here?”
At the mention of my name, both Leroy and Velma stiffened. Leroy grabbed Iris by the arm, his face full of disbelief. “What did you just call her? Are you saying she’s Trix Kennedy–the president of Big Dream Entertainment‘ s U.S. division?”
Iris gave him a hard look, calmly pulling her arm free. “Don‘ t you recognize Ms. Kennedy, sir?”
Leroy just stood there, dumbfounded, while I made my way toward the stage with my head held high. Once onstage, I gave a passionate opening speech on behalf of the event organizer, and the room broke into thunderous applause.
“That was incredible! Who’d have

Entertainment’s U.S. branch is this young woman in her twenties?”
“Guess you don‘ t know much about the Western entertainment world–she’s also a powerhouse in both Europe and Australia!”
“I’ve been trying to get a meeting with her company for months–still no luck!”
Amid the buzz and applause, I stepped off the stage and immediately spotted Leroy and Velma standing there, looking like they’d just swallowed something sour.
But Leroy wasn‘ t ready to back down. He squeezed his way over to me and muttered through gritted teeth, “This morning, several of my company‘ s partners were poached by Big Dream Entertainment. Was that your doing?”
“So what if it was?” I shot back. “It‘ s just business competition. Don’t tell me, Mr. Hurst, that you can’t even handle that?”

Leroy’s face turned an angry shade of red, and Velma glared at me coldly. “Alexia, what are you doing? Your father’s been too focused on paying for Lauren’s treatment to manage the company properly. He’s spent everything he has. Do you really have to push us into a dead end?”
I turned to Velma, raising an eyebrow. A small laugh escaped me. “I’m pushing you to a dead end? Who locked me up in the villa to steal my heart? And now, after I’ve finally escaped, you‘ re chasing me down here? Mrs. Hurst, don’t you feel even a bit ashamed saying that?”
Velma‘ s face went pale, and I took the chance to slip past them and walk away.
Right away, representatives from companies hoping to partner with Big Dream Entertainment surrounded me, and the Hurst couple had no choice but to slink out of the venue.

Entertainment‘ s entry into the U.S. market. Just from this conference, we secured partnerships with dozens of top entertainment companies, both local and international.
Among the stack of partnership requests, I spotted the one from Hurst’s company. Without a second thought, I picked it up and tossed it straight into the trash.
