Lenore nodded. “Go ahead.” Bonnie jogged up the stairs, but after a few steps, a boy stopped her and handed her a pink envelope.
Lenore chuckled to herself and thought, ‘Looks like my little girlfriend has grown big enough for love letters now. She tossed the milk carton in her hand as she made her way to Class 4.
In Class 24, chaos reigned. “Hey, Kyle! She’s here! The new girl is here, and she’s super pretty and cool, Lance practically shouted in Kyle’s ear, creating a buzz that Kyle found incredibly annoying.

Lance waved a picture in his face. “Don’t believe me? Check it out”
“Not happening.” Kyle pushed Lance away, his handsome face showing clear frustration. “I’m trying to sleep here. Leave me alone.”
Lance was lost for words. You’re going to regret this,’ he complained inwardly.
Just then, Lenore walked in through the back door. She casually tossed a milk carton in her hand.

Lenore raised an eyebrow at Kyle, her cold gaze holding a hint of mischief. A smirk played on her lips, and Kyle felt awkward under her stare, his heart racing. He forced a smile, the words coming out in a jumble. “Aunt… Aunt Lenore…
Lance blinked in confusion. “Wait, what did you just call her?”
Before Kyle could answer, Lenore quipped, “Good boy,”
Kyle was speechless, and Lance was wide–eyed.

No one answered him, however. Kyle looked nervously at Lenore and asked with caution, “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming to Greenyine?”

Those were love letters. Lenore frowned, a cold feeling creeping in around her.

Kyle’s father was the director of the Jinslenburg Cultural Relics Bureau and was said to have connections to the Zamora family, one of the top four families in Denisville. Because of that people generally treated him carefully.
Last year, Kyle got into a big fight with some students from Sterling High School, which made him known as the toughest student at Greenvine High. He was pretty well–known, and most people thought twice before messing with him.
So when everyone in class saw him helping Lenore tidy up her desk, they couldn’t believe their eyes.
“What’s going on here?” someone whispered.
“No way. She just got here and already tamed the school bully? another student gasped.
“This girl is amazing…

As the first class began, Kyle couldn’t resist glancing at Lenore, his curiosity getting the better of him. “Aunt Lenore, where have you been this past year?” It had been a year since he last saw her.
Lenore leaned against the wall, casually scribbling with a pen. “Fixing cars at Peacefield.
Kyle’s mouth twitched. “Come on, you don’t have to make up a lane excuse if you don’t want to tell me. He muttered in his/ mind. An indescribably striking big shot like you? Fixing cars? What a joke!
Lenore shrugged. She was being honest, and if Kyle didn’t believe her, that was on him.
