The overwhelming emotions almost consumed me.

The next morning, sunlight touched my face as I woke up, rubbing my aching body.
As I looked up, Asher was sitting at the edge, his gaze probing. “Celeste, why are you still a virgin?”
It was then I noticed the red on the sheets, evidence of my first night.
My nerves instantly went on alert, and I couldn’t help but tremble.
I had completely forgotten about this!
Everyone believed Celeste had been with the Second Young Master, yet here I was, still a virgin. It was suspicious.
My mind raced. “You were too rough last night. I bled, and now you’re asking me…”
He’s not naive. He wouldn’t be easily fooled.
Staring into my eyes, he seemed to want to say something but just smiled.
“Since you’re with me, the past doesn’t matter.”
He kissed my forehead and left the room.
“Ma’am, the sir mentioned transferring the mansion to your name.”
“Ma’am, the sir wants you to handle the transfer of his assets.”
“Ma’am, this is the latest designer handbag, sent over for you to choose from.”
Since we crossed that final line, our relationship has become more stable.
He wants to give me everything.
I sat on the large apartment’s sofa, swirling a wine glass as I looked down at the bustling scene below.
I suddenly remembered the days living at home.
A biased dad, a foolish mom, a spoiled sister.
And I was the only normal one in the family.
I had to give in to Celeste in everything. No matter how much I gave, I could never earn my parents‘ love.
Even when my sister caused trouble, I had to pay with my life to clean up after her.
Thinking back, it scared me.
If Asher really was the violent man people said he was, my life would have ended.
The next day, in spring,
I was out shopping with the servants.
I spotted a new handbag and was about to pay when I noticed the servant’s hesitant look.
“What’s the matter?” I asked, puzzled.
“Ma’am, your mother called saying your sister is getting married in a few days and hopes you can come back to help,” she cautiously checked
my reaction.
After all, since my marriage, I hadn’t been in contact with my family, and everyone knew we didn’t get along.
Sure enough, my expression didn’t change, but I snapped the straw in my hand.
<
“That’s good news. Who’s my lucky brother–in–law?” I asked calmly.
The servant thought for a moment. “Your sister is lucky. The Second Young Master personally came to propose. Her future seems promising.”
The Second Young Master?
I was puzzled. The Second Young Master’s position in the corporation is precarious. Why would a vain father still agree to marry my sister off to him?
Thinking about my sister getting into bed with the Second Young Master and then being forced to marry Asher,
I suddenly felt that there was a big secret hidden in all of this.

A few days later, a luxurious car drove from home to the Lin family.
The atmosphere at home was utterly bleak, without any hint of celebration for a wedding.
Seeing me return, my dad suddenly sighed.
“Nora, we’ve been deceived!”
I said nothing, and my mom suddenly lifted her head, glaring at the door.
“I didn’t expect the Second Young Master to be such a loser! He’s not just violent but also lustful! He got a girl pregnant outside and forced her to have an abortion, resulting in two deaths. You’re lucky.”
I laughed out of anger. “Yeah, if my sister had married Byrne, she’d probably be living a good life now.”
Celeste pretended to wipe away tears.
“Sister, look at you covered in luxury brands. What about your sister? Don’t you feel sorry for me?”
I looked at her expressionlessly. “Feel sorry? When you forced me to marry, I didn’t see you feeling sorry for your sister.”
After being exposed by me, her gaze turned cold.
“What do you mean?”
I sneered as I stood up.
“I only came back to save face for you, not to make a scene. Now that I’ve seen it, I’m leaving!”
Just as I was about to turn and leave,
Celeste smirked. “Sister, have you forgotten about your poor friend Mabel?”
The smile on my face disappeared instantly. “What did you do to her?”
>
When my parents forced me onto the wedding car, Ldidn’t even get to see Mabel one last time.
She was so poor she didn’t have a phone, and we lost contact completely.
Later, when I sent someone to inquire about her, they said she had already married.
“I sent her to the mountain to marry an old bachelor. Who knew she’d have the nerve to escape on her wedding night? Luckily, I caught her and kept her in the basement. Bring Mabel up for my sister to see.”
Celeste spoke while admiring her nails. Human lives were just jokes to her.

In my shock, Mabel was brought in with a cloth in her mouth.
Deprived of sunlight for so long, she was frighteningly pale. Seeing her face made my pupils contract. “Mabel!”
Celeste grabbed Mabel’s hair, causing her face to contort in pain. “Sister, I know you have no feelings for me, but what about your dear friend? Can you bear to see her like this?”
Mabel let out a harrowing scream, and I couldn’t help but close my eyes.
“What do you want! You know this is illegal!”
Celeste suddenly burst into laughter.
“Illegal! But you have to save her first! Sister, we’re twins. If you helped me once, you can help me again. Give Asher back to me, and I’ll let this wretch go.”
