Not long after, Hannergy Technologies

partnership with Duncan. They even paid off the media to release numerous reports, hyping up the announcement.
On the day the company stock launched, prices shot up like a rocket, hitting record highs.
Watching Willow being swarmed by reporters during interviews, brimming with confidence, I couldn’t help but smile faintly.
I let a little rumor slip, acting like I was interested in buying a plot of land on the outskirts of Massachusetts. The
government would be developing this area in six months, creating a new commercial hub that was guaranteed to be highly profitable.
When Willow heard about it, he attended

the auction and kept fiercely bidding against me. In the end, he snatched it up at an insanely high price.
Meanwhile, I maintained close ties with Mr. Trattmann, the executive president of OpenLot Marketplace. Whitney even used her connections to introduce clients to Willow. Desperate to steal those deals, he poured money into the fight, thinking his bank account would crush me.
After a few rounds of this, Willow sneered at me. “You’ve got guts. Always sniffing out good business opportunities. Oh well. What does it matter? You can‘ t compete with Hannergy Technologies‘ s resources.”
“I told you I’d make you regret it,” he continued, his tone dripping with arrogance. “Mr. Chadbourne values me greatly and plans to establish a long–term partnership with Hannergy Technologies. With him backing us, our future is limitless. Out of respect for the fact that

you and Dad were once married, he asked me to take care of you in the future, so I’ll throw you some money from time to time. to make sure you live a little better.”
His words were full of mockery and
disdain.
I swirled the wine in my glass and responded coolly, “Aren’t you worried. that all of this might just be temporary?”
His face instantly twisted in anger. “You never quit, do you? Well, fine, just watch. Hannergy Technologies is only going up from here. And in 10 years, when you re begging me for support, we’ll see if you still have that sharp tongue of yours.”
On my 50th birthday, my three adopted kids threw me a big party. I even invited Harlan and his family.
Duncan’s appearance at my party caused quite a stir among the guests.
Just recently, these same people had attended Leanne and Harlan’s 20th

wedding anniversary celebration. I made sure to invite everyone who attended that
event.
Duncan and Matilda walked up to me with bright smiles. “Mom, we’ve got a big surprise for you. You’ll see it pretty soon,” they said.
Seeing the mischievous looks on their faces, I had a pretty good idea of what they were planning.
My kids all knew about the past I had endured–the pain of being betrayed and cast out by my family and the misery of being forced to leave and start anew in a foreign country.
At the entrance, Minerva accompanied me as I greeted my guests.
When Whitney saw this, she commented, “So, this is the kid you adopted? Pretty
average, honestly. Then again, with someone like you, even your own kids
turned their backs on you. Better watch out

-this one might ditch you too.”
Before I could respond, Leanne interjected,
“Oh, don’t take it seriously, Leanne. Winnie’s just joking around.”
Standing side by side, they appeared as close as a mother and daughter, acting sweet right in front of me.
Minerva frowned at their words and said, “You really think it’s okay to talk like that in front of your daughter? You‘ re setting an example through your actions, and frankly, you‘ re not doing a very good job as a mother.”
Leanne s face darkened. “How dare you lecture me?! My daughter is exceptional! She’s about to start at Stratford
International Academy. Do you even know what that is? Probably not. It’s a school for the elite and the presidents‘ kids. You never even see the inside of that place.”
“Oh, really?” Minerva sneered.
Leanne couldn’t resist rubbing it in. “My

daughter will make friends with the rich and powerful there. Her future is limitless, and you will never be able to compare to her.”
