Chapter 6
I couldn’t understand why, after my mission ended, I didn’t immediately leave this world. Instead, I was floating around in this soul–like state.
I called the system to ask for an answer.
“The system detected that the host’s mission was suddenly interrupted, and a side mission was added.
“If, after Matthew departs from this world, Yolanda’s regret level reaches five stars, time reversal will be activated, and the timeline will reset to before the host bound with the system.”
I was a bit confused. Maybe even the system felt that my years had been so meaningless that it wanted to give me a second chance.
But would Yolanda really regret it? Wasn’t this exactly what she wanted?
I floated lightly in midair, surrounded by a surreal, ethereal world. Everything around me became incredibly clear yet impossibly distant.
My gaze was fixed on Yolanda below, crying uncontrollably.
Her tears fell crazily, streaming down her face as if each drop carried endless sorrow and despair.
At this moment, Yolanda had lost all her usual strength and composure. She knelt helplessly beside my body, holding me tightly in her arms as if this could somehow bring me back to her side.
System prompt: [Yolanda’s regret level, 1 star.]
Just then, a phone rang urgently, it was Chris.

He didn’t seem to realize the gravity of the situation. His voice sounded almost playful.
“Yolanda, where did you go? Are you planning another surprise for me?
“Come back soon, I miss you so much.”
However, at the sound of his teasing, Yolanda’s emotions exploded. She almost screamed, and her voice was full of fury.
“Didn’t you say Matthew was faking it? Why now, when he’s really dead? Why?”
On the other end, Chris was clearly taken aback by Yolanda’s rage. After a brief allence, he tried to lighten the mood with a casual tone.
“What do you mean? Is he really dead? Didn’t he just pretend to faint out of jealousy at our wedding to get attention?”
Yolanda screamed hysterically, “He’s really dead! Dead at our wedding, and it’s all because of you!”
Realizing the seriousness of the situation after a stunned pause, Chris quickly rushed to the scene.
When he arrived, he saw Yolanda crying over my body, clutching it as if she would never let go.
A flicker of disbelief crossed his face, quickly replaced by a complex mix of emotions.
He approached Yolanda, trying to comfort her, but the first words out of his mouth were.
“Didn’t you hate him? Now, you’re free of him. Isn’t this good?
“This is great, Yolanda. You deserve someone better, someone who matches your identity and beauty. You still have me.”
These words were like a spark that immediately ignited the anger and sorrow Yolanda had been holding back for so long.
She suddenly looked up, and her eyes turned red, staring at Chris. Her voice trembled but was resolute as she said.
“Who do you think you are? How dare you compare yourself to Matthew?
“He was the most important person in my life. The one I would’ve given everything to protect! Are you happy now that Matthew’s dead?”
Chris was left speechless by Yolanda’s words. He opened his mouth but found he had no reply.
He stood silently by, watching Yolanda continue to cry at my side, and an indescribable emotion began to rise in his heart.
Maybe, at this moment, he finally realized just how deeply he had hurt Yolanda and how laughable and ignorant his jealousy and resentment toward me had been.
I stood in midair, quietly watching everything unfold.
How laughable humans were. She threw everything away, abandoned me, and lied to me, all to marry Chris.
Now, she didn’t need to lie anymore. She could truly be with Chris, yet she still said he wasn’t good enough for her.
But the moment my body was tossed out at the wedding without hesitation, it was clear that I was the one who didn’t deserve her.
I looked up at Yolanda’s regret index, which had risen to three stars, and found myself confused.
