Chapter 5
I didn’t immediately return to my original world. The system left me in this world in a spiritual form.
I had to wait seven days before I could return to my original world.

My body lay motionless on the wedding site, with the microphone still facing the speaker, emitting an irritating buzzing sound.
The room fell silent instantly, and all eyes turned to my lifeless body.
Chris thought I was just trying to steal the spotlight, his face filled with anger and impatience.
He shouted at me, “Matthew, what are you trying to pull? What do you want now?
“This is the wedding I’ve always dreamed of. You’ve already given Yolanda to me, so why do you have to ruin it now?
“How dare you try to get Yolanda’s attention this way? You’re totally mistaken!”
Yolanda frowned and spoke to me, clearly disappointed by my behavior, as though she had already understood the meaning behind my gaze.
“What kind of pathetic trick are you trying to play?
“You’re still defying me. I told you exactly what to do, but you just won’t listen!”
No matter what they said, I remained unmoved, quietly lying on the ground.
I couldn’t move anymore. I was already a lifeless body.
Without hesitation, Yolanda called over three strong men to lift my body.
“Matthew, I know you’re not happy, but playing dead isn’t going to solve anything!
“Today, this is my and Chris‘ wedding. You’re going too far.”
Her words sounded so righteous, but she had the men carry my body to the lake’s edge.
She didn’t even bother checking for a pulse, not even a single finger on my nose to see if I was still breathing.
Turning away, she went right back to enjoying the wedding festivities while my body lay forgotten by the lake, ignored by everyone.
Yolanda drank happily, something I never allowed her to do when I was in charge.
When the company was just starting, Yolanda had a lot of social events, and it took a toll on her stomach.
But to Yolanda, drinking was her way of unwinding, so I had always been her emotional outlet, trying to get her to release her stress in a healthier way.
However, she thought I was restricting her, so she turned to Chris, who let her indulge, and she took that as his idea of tenderness.
But now, none of it mattered anymore.
After the wedding, Yolanda spent the next day and night partying with Chris and her friends.
She came home after a whole night of partying just as they were getting ready to sleep.
The doorbell rang.
Yolanda frowned, walking to the door. She was exhausted from her night out and was in desperate need of sleep, her voice tinged with annoyance.
“Who the heck is it? Don’t they know I’m trying to sleep?”
She muttered curses under her breath as she opened the door, only to be surprised to find two police officers standing outside.
“What do you want?”
“Do you know anything about Matthew’s death?”

Yolanda froze, staring at the police, her voice trembling in disbelief.
“He… Is he really dead?”
The sleepiness disappeared in an instant. She didn’t wake Chris.
She quickly got in the car and drove to the police station.
They entered the morgue, and there I was, my body lying silently.
My wedding ring was still on my hand, the same one I had shared with Yolanda. She recognized it at once.
With trembling hands, she lifted the uneven white cloth, and my face was revealed again.
My once smooth skin had decayed, with maggots crawling through the rotting flesh.
Yolanda quickly covered my face back up and ran to the corner, gagging violently.
The officer spoke up from the side.
“We found the body at your wedding site. According to the coroner, the time of death matches exactly with when you two got married.”
Right… I died while she was still busy celebrating.
Tears suddenly filled Yolanda’s eyes, and in disbelief, she muttered, “How could you really be gone?”
Seeing Yolanda’s grief and regret, I couldn’t help but laugh.
Wasn’t this what she wanted?
Didn’t she want me to leave her, to disappear completely from this world?
Now that I was gone, why was she crying?
