“Yes, mistress!” The wolves in the opposing pack answered me.
They turned around and started running away like they had death hot on their heels.
“No! Come back!” Alpha Carlos yelled just as he shifted back to his human form.
“What the hell did you do?” Alpha Carlos yelled at Alpha Julius who has also shifted back to his human form.
He looked just as confused, but then his gaze landed on me.
He asked me through mind link, “Was that your doing?”
“Yes, Alpha.” I replied and shifted back to my human form.
“This isn’t over, Alpha Julius! I’ll be back and with an even bigger army!” Alpha Carlos promised as fear showed on his face.

“No, you won’t!” Alpha Julius declared as he glared at him.
Alpha Carlos looked around nervously as he looked even more afraid.
He shifted into his wolf form and ran away too.
“Why is their eyes golden and why aren’t they celebrating our victory?” Alpha Julius asked me as he looked around at all the other pack warriors.
“Oh, sorry. Let me get them back to normal.” I said as I closed my eyes.
I breathed in and out evenly as I retracted my powers.
My eyes turned back to their hazel color and the eyes of the other pack warriors also returned to their original color as they stopped glowing golden.
It meant that they were no longer under my control.

grabbed my hand and raised it up as he announced, “We’ve won the war and it’s all thanks to Amber!”
Applause resonated through the crowd and they started chanting, “Amber! Amber! Amber!”
My face flushed in a blush and my heart swelled as I felt happy being recognized for my efforts.
“As long as we have Amber with us, victory will always be ours!” Alpha Julius exclaimed as he let go of my hand and it fell back to my side.
I felt so special and I couldn’t help the grin that appeared on my face.
“Thank you, Alpha!” I exclaimed in gratitude.
“No, thank you, Amber.” He replied with a smile touching his lips.
A few days later, Alpha Julius called me to his office at the pack house.

I walked into the office and was shocked by
his next words.
“We have investigated the start of the war and it leads back to your previous pack. We dug deeper found out that Alpha Blake paid a huge amount of money to Alpha Carlos to get more pack warriors and attack us.”
I gasped and asked, “But why would he do that?”
“It seems that he wanted to destroy this pack so that you will go back to his pack. He didn’t expect you to fight in the war since you’re a woman, but all warriors fight in wars no matter their gender in this pack.” He answered me as he sighed.
He added, “Alpha Carlos sent me a call recording where Alpha Blake said that he wanted you to crawl back to him and that he needs you to be close to him again.”
I was not impressed by Blake’s tactics and shook my head.

back? He was insane.
After that day, I decided not to think about him, not knowing that Blake was still thinking about me.
He found out where I lived and came to my doorstep with a love letter in his hand.
As soon as I opened the door, he murmured, “You‘ ve told me how much you love romantic love letters. I’ll write as many love letters as you want if you take me back. I’ll heal the wounds of the past.”
He opened the love letter and held it up for
me to read.
