Chapter 7
“He is such a cold and aloof male god, yet he also knows how to have a secret crush. I don’t even know how he started liking me.”
Listening to her rambling about these past events, Krista felt a mix of emotions.
From Rosa’s mouth, she got to know a Frankie who was completely different from the one she had in mind.
Originally, he was not indifferent by nature, he just didn’t like her; he was not unresponsive to everything, and he just wasn’t the person who could ignite his motivation.
Unfortunately, she got too deeply involved, realized it too late, and wasted so many years on him in vain.
Immersed in the past, Rosa did not notice Krista’s meaningful expression.
After this conversation, she had already regarded Krista as a trustworthy friend and mustered up the courage to slowly reveal the long–standing dilemma in her heart to this person she had only met a few times.
“Krista, what did you think of Frankie?”
Krista understood the meaning behind Rosa’s words.
She lifted her head, looked at the soon–to–be–empty house, and honestly expressed her thoughts from the bottom of her heart.
“I have known him forten years, but it wasn’t until recently that I got to know him better and realized that I didn’t really understand him at all. So, I’m afraid I can’t answer how he is as a person. However, what I can tell you is that this is the first time I have seen him like someone so much.”
Rosa nodded thoughtfully, feeling much more at ease in her heart.
As the sun was setting and the evening was approaching, she grabbed Krista and said she wanted to take her out for a meal to have dinner together.
Frankle, who happened to be coming downstairs at that moment, overheard the conversation and immediately froze in place, his face clearly expressing his unwillingness
Watching his expression, Krista’s lips curved into a faint smile as she declined her invitation
“I had something to do tonight, so I won’t disturb you‘
Frankie didn’t give the two siblings a chance to react at all, he helped Krista into the car.
“You go first, I will come to find you after I take her home.”
The truck followed the car and drove out of the residential area.
Frankie’s heart throbbed in sync with the frequency of the street traffic lights, as his mind raced to come up with a plausible explanation.
Krista was the first to break the strange silence, her tone calm.
“Don’t be so nervous. Didn’t we agree before marriage that we would keep our marriage a secret from everyone except our parents until both of us felt it was appropriate to announce it? I understand that you’re not ready now.”
Frankie’s restless heart gradually calmed down as she spoke in her gentle tone.
He took a deep breath and there was a hint of gratitude in his tone.
“Thank you for understanding. Actually, slowly, I have already been able to accept the fact that you are married. Give me some more time, and I will definitely make it public.”
Krista made a barely audible sound of agreement and turned to look out the window.
It has been three years since we got married, and we haven’t made it public yet. We still need to wait for some more time.

But she didn’t want to wait anymore.
All the way, Krista remained silent and didn’t say a word.
Frankie always felt that her recent emotions were low, but she couldn’t figure out the reason. She could only go through everything that had happened during this period from beginning to end.
The final answer he came up with was that he had been busy with Rosa’s case during this period of time and had neglected her, which is why she couldn’t lift her spirits.
A slight sense of guilt surged up in his heart, and he rarely made a proactive suggestion.
“It’s almost our third wedding anniversary, let me take you out for a trip to relax.”
The cooling–off period was coming to an end, and Krista didn’t want to complicate things further, so she declined using the excuse of being Injured
Upon careful consideration, Frankie realized that it was indeed not quite suitable, so he changed a few ways of celebration for her to
choose from.
One by one, Krista always managed to find excuses and ultimately rejected them all, seemingly without any intention of celebrating Frankie was instantly puzzled by her cold demeanor, which was completely different from her previous excitement whenever she heard about a date.
Seeing his puzzled expression, Krista was also afraid that he might figure something out, so she made a suggestion.
“That day happened to be the weekend; would you accompany me to visit my alma mater?”
How did you suddenly start reminiscing about the past?
Frankie couldn’t figure out what she was thinking, but he also didn’t want to dampen her spirits, so he nodded in agreement.” The carriage became quiet again.
Krista took out a calendar and looked at two days that were close together.
On September 7th, it was marked with the two words “divorce”
