Chapter 5
“Krista, that day Rosa and I just happened to run into each other, don’t overthink it.”
“Has Rosa completed the divorce process?”
For the first time ever, Frankie’s eyes flickered with a hint of surprise as she asked this question, but she still answered truthfully.
“Done, already divorced.”
Krista’s smile on her face grew even stronger, as she whispered, “It went smoothly, I hope I can also go smoothly like that.”
Frankie didn’t understand what she meant by that and was about to ask when the phone rang again.
After recognizing the caller, he hesitated for a moment but eventually went to the corridor to answer the call.
Half an hour later, he returned and found the door of the ward slightly ajar, with Krista’s voice coming from inside.
“Yeah, just wait until the cooling–off period is over, there are still fifteen days left, and then we can finally be free…”
The property division agreement suddenly popped into his mind.
Remembering her abrupt and incoherent words, Frankie’s heart skipped a few beats and she pushed the door open directly.
Krista never expected that he would come back.
Luckily, Kylie happened to come over. She forcefully suppressed her startled expression and pointed with her hand.
“Kylie, she wanted a divorce.”
Kylie glanced at the two people and immediately nodded in agreement.
“Um… yes, it was me who planned to get a divorce, and Thad already started the process.”
Frankie and Krista were not close, so they didn’t have much interaction with her friends.
Although I had met Kylie twice, I still didn’t know much about her family situation. Upon hearing this, I furrowed my brows.
“Why didn’t you come to me first if you wanted a divorce?”
Kylie couldn’t come up with a lie, she was stuttering and hesitating
Krista, seeing the situation, quickly took over the conversation.
“You were busy with Rosa’s divorce case during that period of time, and I was afraid that you would be overwhelmed, so I didn’t bother you
H
As soon as she mentioned Rosa, Frankie became a little flustered and didn’t inquire further.
“If there are any problems in the future, you can come to me.
Although a few words concealed the past, Krista did not feel at ease in her heart.
With Frankie’s professional habits and keenness, he would not have noticed the unusual aspects behind this series of events.
But as long as it involved Rosa, he seemed to lose his sanity and judgment completely, disregarding everything
They say love makes people blind, and Krista finally understood what that meant.
She watched as Frankie’s fingers swiftly tapped on the phone, restless and anxious, counting down in her mind how much longer he had until he left.
From ten to one, he indeed got up and found an excuse to leave
“Krista, I have to go busy myself for a while with some legal matters. When are you getting discharged from the hospital? I will come to pick you up.”

They say love makes people blind, and Krista finally understood what that meant.

From ten to one, he indeed got up and found an excuse to leave.
“Krista, I have to go busy myself for a while with some legal matters. When are you getting discharged from the hospital? I will come to pick you up.”
Krista knew he was lying, but she didn’t care anymore.
“Five days later.”
On the day of discharge, Krista waited from morning till night, but she didn’t see Frankie.
As soon as I opened the Timeline, I saw Rosa’s beach swimming photo that she had posted. It seemed like she had a premonition of something, so I gave her a call.
Before even speaking, the sound of the surging waves coming from the phone had already completely exposed everything.
Frankie was completely unaware and still found an excuse.
“Krista, I was ona business trip in another city. Is there anything you need?”
He indeed forgot about picking her up from the hospital.
No matter how many times, Rosa is always important.
And she, forever remained his unattainable second choice.
Fortunately, she woke up and no longer wanted to stand behind and wait for him foolishly.
Krista did not remind or expose hin
him, she just cared for him as usual with a couple of sentences.
“”When did you go? How many days did you stay?”
“He came the day before yesterday, he will come back tomorrow”
Krista nodded and, after casually telling him to take care of himself, hung up the phone..
After calling a car for herself, she stood by the roadside, pulled out a calendar, and checked it, counting down the days until her divorce.
Ten days.
Only ten more days, and then complete liberation.
Back then, the sky was high and the land was vast, and one could be free and unrestrained.
No one came to pick me up when I was discharged from the hospital. What does such a small matter even count for?
After returning home, Krista had intended to speed up the moving process.
However, her leg injury was not fully healed yet, making it difficult for her to move around easily, so she called a moving company to come and provide service at her home.
The living room was filled with boxes of all sizes, and several staff members were busy packing and carrying things in and out, with the door wide open.
