Chapter 3
“The dark yesterday has come to an end, and everything will be reborn.”
As Krista looked at the sentence frozen on the screen, her heart sank and a hidden pain slowly grew and spread.
It seems that Rosa has successfully ended her previous marriage.
Well, with the help of Frankle, the ace lawyer in the legal field, who he has liked for so many years, he would undoubtedly spare no effort to lend a helping hand upon hearing the word “divorce”
Since she returned to being single, it is likely that Frankie would soon propose divorce and be with her.
Without even asking, Krista could envision that scene.
A self–deprecating smile appeared on her face, and her heart was filled with sorrow.
The divorce, sooner or later, would happen. She just brought it forward in time.
Rather than passively waiting to be abandoned, choosing to leave actively allows one to at least maintain a shred of dignity, doesn’t it?
Krista put down her phone, got up, and threw all the couple items she had bought before into a cardboard box, then dragged it downstairs.
Frankie, who had just returned, watched her struggling appearance and quickly went up to greet her.
“How did we lose so many things?”
Krista lowered her gaze and said, “I don’t usually use it, so let’s throw it away to save space.”
Frankie nodded understandingly and lifted the box voluntarily.
Watching his gradually receding figure, Krista’s gaze remained calm..
Actually, as long as he opened the box and took a look, he would know that what was about to be thrown away were all things that she had once cherished.
With his intelligence, he could definitely perceive the fact that she wanted to leave because of her unusual behavior.
The story actually had a chance for a turning point
But Frankie did nothing
He threw the box directly into the trash bin and then turned around,
In the afternoon, Krista’s computer suddenly crashed. In order to quickly organize her current materials, she borrowed Frankie’s laptop.
During the interval of waiting for the file transfer, a new message rang out. She instinctively clicked on it and found that it was a message from the law firm.
“Frankle, there is a dinner gathering at the law firm tonight. Do you want to bring your girlfriend along?”
After seeing this message, Krista’s hand trembled slightly involuntarily.
Married for three years, Frankie had never publicly revealed their relationship, so in the eyes of others, he always appeared to be single.
That is also why she went to his workplace, a law firm, for consultation, but no one recognized her.
Will he agree this time?
Krista didn’t know, nor did she dare to hope
Frankie, who was by her side, glanced up at her instantly after seeing it on his phone, as if he was observing her expression.

Frankie, who was by her side, glanced up at her instantly after seeing it on his phone, as if he was observing her expression.
After noticing his gaze, Krista revealed a faint smile.
“Did you want to take me to the party?”
The implicit meaning was, that it had been three years, should it be made public?
Frankie didn’t know how to respond, opened his mouth, but no sound came out.
The momentary silence pierced Krista’s heart like a sharp blade, causing waves of dull pain.
She forcefully suppressed the pain in her heart and put on a seemingly indifferent expression, pretending to be relaxed.
“I had something to do in the evening, even if you wanted to take me, I probably wouldn’t have had the time.”
Frankie’s tense heart relaxed, and his face returned to normal.
“Next time I have the opportunity, I will take you there again.”
Krista did not respond.
She raised her hand to cover her eyes and silently answered him in her heart.
Next time?
Frankie.
There would be no next time.
In the evening, Frankie went to the appointment alone and as soon as he entered the door, he was grabbed by a few drunken colleagues.
“It’s been three years and I haven’t seen you bring a girlfriend, Frankie. This is not very thoughtful!”
“Why don’t you let us see your girlfriend? Until when are you going to hide her away like a precious gem in a golden house?”
Under the urging of several colleagues, Frankle opened his phone.
There are two candidates, Rosa and Krista.
After hesitating for a long time, he finally clicked on the profile picture of the former and sent a message.
In a short while, Rosa came over following the address.
As the door was pushed open, everyone in the room’s eyes lit up, and they excitedly praised him for having a good eye.
After three rounds of drinks, Elvis Harrell urgently handed the file bag in his hand to Frankie and entrusted him to take it downstairs and deliver it to a lady.
Out of courtesy, he naturally wouldn’t refuse and went downstairs with the number in hand, taking a look at the information in the documents along the way.
