Chapter 22
After seeing Rosa in the cafe, Krista felt a sense of deja vu deep in her heart.
It has been a month since we last met, and she seems to have become a bit haggard. Her spirits and complexion are not as good as
before.
Krista was somewhat surprised by her change, but she still politely greeted her.
After ordering, both people who were not very familiar with each other didn’t know what to say.
Finally, it was Rosa who broke the silence by speaking up first.
“Krista, Lasked you out today to apologize to you,
Faced with her sincere apology, Krista’s face showed a hint of surprise, and she quickly waved her hand.
“There was nothing between us, you don’t need to apologize.”
Hearing her being so generous and not minding at all, the guilt in Rosa’s eyes became even more intense.
“That day, I didn’t know that you had married Frankie. I said a lot of nonsense and hurt your feelings. I’m sorry.”
It was all for this small matter.
her paze toward her carried a hint of tenderness.
Krista’s heart stirred slightly, and her gaze
“It was me who kept it from you first. You were just speaking your mind, and 1 didn’t take it to heart. Besides, I had already made up my mind to get a divorce at that time. Your words actually made me more determined, so I should thank you. Otherwise, I might not have been able to move on so quickly.”
Rosa knew that these words were comforting herself, but she could never get over the hurdle in her heart, tears shimmering in her eyes.
“Things have come to this point, and both Frankie and I are responsible. We are sorry for what we have done to you.”
Seeing her insistence on taking the blame, Krista didn’t know what to say for a moment.
Rosa, who was trapped in a state of guilt, gradually became more and more agitated.
“Krista, actually I wanted to tell you that Frankie and I have talked it out. From now on, we are just siblings. Can you give him another chance?”
This sudden change of topic left Krista stunned.
Shouldn’t they have been deeply in love with each other, getting married on the same day they divorced?
Why are they all starting to persuade her to reconcile one by one?
This doubt had been lingering in Krista’s mind for a long time, and this time she couldn’t help but ask it out.
“We have already divorced, why didn’t you two get together?”
Rosa’s voice had already started to choke.
“Frankie Liking me was something I had known for a long time, but I always treated him as a brother and pretended not to know. Later, I got married to my first boyfriend, but he cheated on me and I found out after a few months. I was devastated at that time, and it was Frankie who helped me through the darkest period. I didn’t know he had gotten married, and I thought he still liked me. Slowly, he managed to touch my heart.”
“But slowly, I could feel that his kindness toward me was different from before. Previously, his gaze toward me was that of romantic interest, but after my divorce, although he was very enthusiastic in helping me, I always felt that he treated me like a dear brother, occasionally making me feel like I had two brothers.”
“Didn’t we talk a lot that day? The reason I asked you about Frankie’s opinion in the end was just to get an outsider’s perspective. I couldn’t figure out what his feelings toward me were, but after hearing your words, I thought my previous feelings were wrong. That’s when I started thinking about being with him.”

“You disappeared after the divorce, and I only found out the truth when I went to look for him. I felt really guilty about it, considering, that my own marriage was also broken up by the other woman. So I couldn’t accept the fact that I had destroyed Frankle’s marriage. No matter what he thought, our story could only stop at the level of friends from that moment on.”
