Chapter 15
After hearing the news of Krista’s return from Elvis, Frankle immediately wanted to arrange a meeting with her but was ruthlessly
rejected.
He felt a little disappointed in his heart, but there was nothing he could do. He could only wait quietly for her to come and find him.
During this period, he carefully examined the divorce settlement and division of property countless times and bought many things while comparing them to the layout of the old mansion.
He held onto a glimmer of hope that Krista would forgive him, and tried to restart the original arrangement, wanting everything to
return to normal.
Time passed day by day, and at the end of September, he finally received a call from Elvis
Krista invited him to meet up.
The location, however, was at the entrance of City Hall.
Frankie’s heart was filled with anticipation, only to be instantly disappointed.
But he still went to the appointment, without bringing anything.
Krista watched as he approached empty–handed, and instantly realized that agreeing to a divorce was just a lie he had fabricated.
But she had already anticipated it, so she wasn’t that angry, just a hint of impatience in her tone
“Agreeing to divorce and leaving with nothing, is this your sincerity?”
Not seeing each other for half a month, as soon as they opened their mouths, it was about divorce. A hint of sadness flashed in Frankie’s eyes.
He stared at her intently, trying to find some signs of sadness or sorrow, so that he could have the confidence to keep her.
But her face remained calm like a still lake, radiant, and her complexion was countless times better than before the divorce.
Was he the only one who felt sad during this period of time?
Frankie felt as if a heavy stone was lodged in his chest, and he was struggling to catch his breath.
“Can we talk, Krista?”
“Sure, after we get the divorce certificate, I’m willing to chat about anything you want.”
In one sentence, Frankle’s tiny glimmer of hope was completely extinguished.
His fingers dug deep into the palm, and his voice became extremely hoarse,
“I didn’t bring my ID, can you accompany me to go back and get it, okay?”
Krista didn’t even think about it and refused directly.
“You go by yourself; I’ll wait here for you.”
Seeing that she was unwilling, Frankie had to come up with another excise.
“There were many things in the house that you had stored, and I don’t know where they are. It might take a long time to find them.”
That sentence was indeed telling the truth.
But Krista always felt that he still had a trick up his sleeve, so she only agreed to go back with him after sending Kylie a message.
Sitting in the passenger seat again, both of them had their own thoughts.
Frankie couldn’t help but recall the scene when the two of them happily returned to their alma mater last time.

There was a moment of silence in the carriage, and Frankie tried to find a topic.
“Where have you b
been these days?”
Krista kept looking out of the window, her voice still cold.
“We got divorced; it has nothing to do with you.”
The simple and straightforward two sentences deeply pierced Frankie’s heart, and he pursed his lips, filled with disappointment in his
eyes.
“We have just finished the cooling–off period, but we haven’t officially divorced yet. If the relevant procedures are not completed within thirty days, the divorce application will be invalidated, Krista.”
These days, Krista has been studying marriage law diligently, and she has already familiarized herself with all the legal provisions.
She also guessed that Frankle would use this rule to threaten her, so she didn’t even bother getting into his logic and changed the topic directly.
