Chapter 9 – Confessions
FREYA
I waited outside even though I couldn’t stop shaking. I was glad that Roy had finally gotten to know the type of person Raina was. But her words wouldn’t stop ringing in my ears.
If Roy had truly loved me then he wouldn’t have been in a hurry to abandon me on our wedding day to save someone else.
I know I shouldn’t doubt Roy‘ s feelings for me but with everything that’s happened over the past few days it’s got me confused.
“How do you feel?” Sarah‘ s voice jolted me from my thoughts.

I blinked and saw her staring at me, Roy was
nowhere behind her.
“He’s warning that slut! She just threatened me,” Sarah said, as if reading my mind.
I sighed, “Thank you, Sarah.”
Sarah hugged me and patted my back, “It’s alright, darling. I just knew that someone had
to make him see who Raina is.

I nodded as I pulled away, blinking back the tears that threatened to spill from my eyes.
“It’s quite unfortunate that it’s already late,” I said.
Sarah stared at me like I’d grown a second head, “What do you mean, child?”
I shook my head, “Raina was right. If Roy

cared about me even a little he wouldn’t have
dismissed me like that.”
Sarah sighed, “Don’t let that girl get to your head, love. Roy loves you and I’m not saying it because he’s my grandson.”
I smiled at her, “I’m grateful, Sarah. At least everyone knows the type of person Raina is. Tell Roy I’ve gone home.”
I left the hospital with a heavy heart. The truth might have surfaced but I felt it was already too late. Roy didn’t love me enough
else he wouldn’t have hurt me like that.
I arrived back home and dug out my cereal. It was something I enjoyed doing whenever I was tired and upset.
As I prepared the cereal a sharp knock

sounded on my door. I opened it to see Ivan
standing in front of my door.
“May I come in?” he asked.
I nodded and allowed him to enter inside. He perched at the edge of my bed and I sat down
beside him.
“Make yourself comfortable as long as you don’t say anything stupid,” I said to him.
Ivan laughed and ran his hand through his dark tousled hair.
“What are you eating?” he asked me as I
munched on the food.
“Cereal. Want some?”
He shook his head, “I came to apologize.”
I frowned, “What for?”

He suddenly looked nervous as he stared at
me, “Please don’t be upset, Freya, but I convinced Roy to invite Raina to the wedding.”
I frowned, “Why would you need to convince him? Roy invited her.”
He shook his head, “It wasn’t like that. Roy
didn’t want to invite her but I told him that
since he had nothing to hide then he should
invite her.

“Nothing to hide? I don’t understand.”
“I know Raina was still in love with Roy and he was just being her good friend but I had hoped that Raina would be able to get Roy back,” Ivan confessed.
My frown turned into a puzzled look as I

stared at Ivan, shocked, “But why would you
do that? I thought you’ve always liked me with your brother.”
“I’ve always liked you, Freya, but not with my brother. You belong with me,” he
declared.
“What do you mean by that?”
“I mean you belong by my side. I’ve been in love with you Freya from the moment my brother brought you home but before I could make you mine he claimed you.”
Ivan’s words left me boiling with frustration and anger as I glared at him.
“So you decided that the way to have me was by ruining my happiness?” I asked him.

Ivan sighed, “I didn’t mean to make you upset. I just wanted Raina to take Roy away from you so you’d know he’s not the man for you.”
I scoffed, “The man for me? You tried to sabotage everything I’ve had with Roy. Did you even stop to think of how I’d feel?”
“I wasn’t the one who made Roy leave you at the altar, that single action should let you know he doesn’t deserve you,” Ivan snapped. I scoffed and stood up, “Get out.”
Ivan walked over to me, his eyes shining with anger as he looked at me.
“And if I don’t? What will you do?”
