Chapter 5 – Moving On
FREYA
My heart was filled with anger as I left the restaurant. I had thought that meeting Roy maybe things would get easier and he might realize his mistake and we would get back together.
But I had been wrong because it was obvious he still cared for Raina. And the fact that he
couldn’t see past her charades was so annoying.
I wiped the tears from my eyes as I stepped out of the cab and paid the taxi driver. As I headed inside I heard footsteps behind me.

Frowning, I turned around to see that Ivan
had followed me. I rolled my eyes at him, he
was becoming persistent more than the man I had ditched.
“What do you want?” I asked him,
“Someone would think you‘ re the man I broke up with.

Ivan shrugged, “You ditched my brother so it’s also me you ditched.”
I sighed, “I’m not in the mood, Ivan. Leave me alone.”
Ivan grabbed my arm, to stop me from leaving, “Why are you running away from Roy? It’s obvious you still care about him. Just give him some time to finalize things with Raina.”

I glared at him, “Stay away from me, Ivan. I don’t even know why you’re the one begging when it should be your brother.”
Ivan shrugged, “Well, he wanted to beg tonight but you wouldn’t let him.”
“Go to hell!” I snapped at him.
I was furious, at the fact that they all acted like they couldn’t see the schemes Raina was cooking up, and when I talked it’d be like I’m a wicked witch who was trying to ruin the innocent girl.
“Stop getting worked up over this issue, Freya. Everyone knows Roy loves you. He’s just worried about Raina,” Ivan said.
I shrugged, “I don’t care again, Ivan. I don’t wanna be a part of whatever shit is going

With that, I left Ivan standing outside as I walked inside my house. I lay on the old bed and let out a quiet sigh. I knew that it was finally time to let go and stop hoping.
I wiped off the tears that rolled down my cheeks and I had no idea when I dozed off however I was awoken by a loud knock on my
door.
Letting out a sigh I stood up and stared at the alarm clock by the nightstand. I was surprised to see it was already morning.
The knock sounded again and I scowled as I wondered who was knocking so early in the morning. I yanked the door open and the frown on my face deepened when I saw who

was standing in my door frame.
“Freya, why did you block me?” he asked
- me.
I scoffed as I stared at Roy‘ s angry face, “It took you days to figure that out, huh?”
He frowned, “What is that supposed to mean?”
He marched into my house and sat down on the bed looking around the room
distastefully.
“And why did you move back to this dump?” he snapped.
I glared at him, “Get out!”
“Freya, if you would just be reasonable for once then you’d see that I care about you!”

Roy snapped.
I could see the veins bulging in his head. He looked stressed and I couldn’t care less. Not after what I’d seen yesterday.
“Go back to your little girlfriend, Raina,” I
hissed at him.
Roy sighed, “I understand your annoyance, Freya. But I’m here to make it right. Raina isn’t my girlfriend.”
“Fine. If you wanna make this right then let’s get married and you’ll forget all about this Raina girl,” I stated.
Roy frowned, “You don’t have to get jealous about Raina, it’s you I love. I’ve already told you Raina has no one so she’s my
responsibility.”

His phone rang and interrupted him. He glanced at it and I caught the name of Raina displayed on the screen.
I scoffed, “Run to her.

“Freya, please –” his phone rang again and he picked it up.
“I’m busy, Raina!” he said in a sharp tone.
I would have appreciated it had it not been for the fact that he stood up, his eyes widening in
horror.
“I’ll be there soon,” he said and hung up.
