Chapter 2
Iturned around and left without any nostalgia, amidst countless astonished gazes.
Back at the Norton villa, I took off the cumbersome evening gown.
I was Evan’s lapdog, everyone knew it.
Whenever it comes to anything about him, Evan, I always overthink it.
Then arrange everything for him completely.
Evan had said multiple times that work was too tiring and he wanted to relax.
So I coordinated with his work schedule and arranged a trip to Direwich.
Because he had said that he missed the beaches and the sea over there.
However, in my previous life, Evan did not agree to play with Direwich.
Instead, I chose to go mountain camping with Marlee.
I was ordered to follow.
In the pouring rain, Evan asked me to pick up Marlee’s bracelet.
I rolled down the cliff and broke my leg.
I lay in the hospital for two months.
I never want to experience that feeling of life falling into despair again.
Getting away from Evan was the first step.
I quickly packed my luggage and went downstairs with my documents.
Just then, Evan rushed in, dressed in formal attire.
When he saw me, he suddenly sneered and snatched my luggage, throwing it away directly.
I frowned and asked, “What were you doing?”
“Carla, what were you doing?”
“How old are you and still playing the ‘run away from home‘ game?”
“What do you want to do next time? Are you going to leave a suicide note again?”
Fyan panted heavily. His face filled with disgust as he accused.
“Carla, were you childish and trying to threaten me with suicide?”
I patted the dirty suitcase and questioned it word by word.
“Who told you that I wanted to commit suicide?”
People like him and Marlee, one with a wolf’s heart and the other with a dog’s lung, could both live
well.
I had a hard time coming back to life, why should I commit suicide?
Evan sneered, remained silent, and his eyes were filled with disdain.
Marlee, who followed closely behind him, spoke slowly.
“Carla, you can talk to Evan about coming to the birthday party. You two grew.un too
siblings, how could he not let you in?”
“Suicide, as a means, can be used once, but using it twice is like crying wolf.”
Marlee had a hidden agenda.
Evan’s gaze towards me grew increasingly disgusted.
The memories in my mind were in a state of chaos.
I suddenly remembered something.
In high school, Evan and Marlee started dating.
He was like a completely different person to me.
I angrily left a message, saying that I wanted to find a place to jump into the river.
This incident frightened Mr. and Mrs. Norton.
They ordered Evan and Marlee to break up.
Since then, Evan detested me, ignored me, and refused to communicate with me.
Marlee’s small group isolated me, bullied me, and he turned a blind eye.
like
I looked directly at Evan and explained, “You’re overthinking it, I never thought about suicide. I was packing my things to catch a flight to Direwich.”
Evan sneered, laughing at me for using feeble excuses to defend myself.
Marlee tugged at Evan’s sleeve.
“Evan, why don’t we let Carla join us? She looks so pitiful.”
Evan frowned and was about to loosen his grip.
I refused again, “No need, I want to go to Direwich.”
Evan’s face slightly changed, and he sneered, “Did you hear that? They said they were going to
Direwich!”
“Carla, don’t be unreasonable at this moment.”
Marlee sighed and reached out to hold my hand.
The sharp nail deeply pierced into my flesh in a place where no one knew.
I pushed her away in pain.
Marlee fell to the ground, weakly clutching her palm, her eyes filled with disbelief as she looked at me, her lips trembling lightly.
“Carla, you…”
