“I always thought the two of you took good care of Joy all these years. Turned out this is how you truly treated her,”
My uncle had already doubted that Tom and Jeff were good matches for me, but he never imagined they would treat me this way.
I secretly tugged on Keith’s sleeve and whispered to ask how he knew all of this.
He held my hand and mouthed, “That’s a secret.”
However, with the resources that the Adam Family had, it would not be too difficult to find out the hidden truth. However, both Tom and Jeff had stubbornly blamed me for everything because of Lizbeth’s provocation.
The room fell into an awkward silence. Or rather, it was Tom and Jeff who were feeling very embarrassed. Their faces flushed a mix of red and white as they struggled to justify themselves.
“This all a misunderstanding! It’s the fault of the bystander’s video, which only showed Lizbeth jumping into the water to save you,” they stammered.
“We didn’t realize your allergy was that serious at the time and the money we gave you wasn’t meant for you to

Faced with a shared rival, they had decided to join forces to sabotage my wedding.
I took out my phone and showed them a picture.
“The money you gave me doesn’t need to be returned, because it was to buy Lizbeth’s new house,” I said.
They stared at the image of the property deed, where Lizbeth’s name was clearly listed as the owner. Shock and disbelief filled their faces.
“How could this be? Wasn’t that house yours? When did it become hers?””
I scrolled to a message that Lizbeth had sent me.
After they read it, their faces twisted as if they had swallowed something bitter.
My uncle, mindful of past relationships, did not have the heart to kick them out, but Keith had no such
reservations. After rudely ordering them to leave, he ordered his people to shut the villa’s door in their faces. He did not care whether they wanted to go or not.
The next day was the wedding and I left the villa as a bride.
When the wedding car arrived to pick me up, I learned that the two of them had stood outside the villa all night long.
Only one night had passed, but they looked haggard. They had dark circles under their eyes and stubble on their chin. They looked utterly defeated.
When my grandmother came out, she couldn’t bear to see them like that and invited them to join in sending me
off. However, both of them refused.
Instead, they barged into the procession and tried to drag me away from Keith’s arms.
Keith held me tightly while kicking each of them away. Seeing this, my uncle sent his men to restrain them.
“Tom and Jeff, if you truly love Joy, you should wish her happiness,” my uncle’s sharp gaze pierced through them as he spoke sternly. “She’s not some object to be fought over when you want her, only to be discarded when you
don’t.”
His harsh words made both of them break down in tears, unable to hold back any longer.
I lightly patted Keith, signaling him to let me down. He refused. Instead, he carried me over to stand in front of
Tom.
While holding on tightly to Keith’s neck, I looked at them with clear, unwavering eyes.
“Thank you for your companionship and care over the past ten years,” I said.
“However, at most, we were just ordinary friends. I’ve never owed you anything. You chose to fall in love with Lizbeth and kept hurting me and I never held it against you. So now that I’m marrying someone I love, there’s no reason for you to try and ruin my wedding.”
They immediately protected, “We never fell in love with Lizbeth. This is all a misunderstanding. Can you forgive us? Please, don’t marry somebody else. I’m begging you.”
I saw no point in saying more, so I kept silent.
Understanding my mood, Keith gave me a wink and proceeded to take me into the wedding car.
At the hotel, as the romantic wedding march played, my uncle led me down the aisle and entrusted me to Keith.
Leaning closer, my uncle whispered in my ear, “Joy, actually your parent chose Keith for you. I was just the one testing him. Thankfully, we all made a good choice! May you be happy together!”
So, it was my parents who had chosen Keith for me.
Suddenly, I understood my uncle’s good intentions.
If he had told me from the beginning that my parents had chosen Keith, I would have agreed to marry him without a second thought. Yet, he wanted me to be happy without any regrets.
With a smile. I thanked my uncle and then together with Keith, we walked down the aisle and toward our future.
Later, when Keith took me back to Torch City to visit my parents‘ graves, we unexpectedly met Tom and Jeff. They were there to pay their respect too.
They did not dare to approach us and looked at me from afar.
When we walked past them, Jeff opened his mouth, “Joy we got your old house back. We have bought every single thing that you like. We also clean it up regularly, so it will be ready to be used by you when you are ready to come back to stay We’ve also driven Lizbeth away from this city, to make sure that she can never frame you and get in your way again”
“You can deal with the house It has nothing to do with me,” I cut him off, ignoring Tom’s pained expression. I linked my arms with Keith and walked away.
Even after the birth of my two children, they both remained unmarried.
Their families even begged me to speak with them, hoping I could convince them to move on, but all I could say was, “I can’t help you.”
