Keith had arranged everything for us. Even the private jet was ready to take off.
However, after over an hour of waiting, the two people who were supposed to come and visit my grandmother were nowhere to be found.
Not wanting Grandma to feel disappointed, I thought of making a video call so she could thank them and say goodbye. I wanted her to put her mind at ease.
However, neither one of them answered the video call. I even tried to call them but they still did not answer. My grandmother looked away from Keith, who had been talking and laughing at her and told me not to call them again.
“If they’re busy, don’t disturb them,” she said. “I’ll ask your uncle to send them some expensive gifts to their families as a token of our appreciation.”
“In my opinion, we shouldn’t invite Tom and Jeff to your wedding. They might feel uncomfortable seeing you marry another man.”
Grandma knew clearly the reason the two of them visited the nursing home every now and then and kept her company was to earn some points to win the competition to win my heart.
“Alright, I’ll follow your wishes,” I replied.
I didn’t tell her the real reason I wasn’t inviting them. It did not matter if I invited them or not. Even if I did, they still would not come because of Lizbeth.
After the doctor and the private jet were ready, Keith, Grandma and I went to Ansel City.
Throughout the journey, Keith was very attentive and caring toward me and my grandmother.
Grandma was very impressed with the Adam Family, then she united my hand and Keith’s with her and said, “Keith, I’m entrusting Joy to you.”
Keith looked me in the eyes and with a serious expression, raised his hand and promised never to let me suffer even the slightest bit of grievance.
Grandma beamed with delight and her mouth stretched so wide that her eyes turned into slit.
When Keith went to get some water, she whispered in my ear, “He’s been waiting to marry you for years. Make sure you cherish him. Once you two are married, give him lots of children.”
My face turned crimson with embarrassment and I did not give much thought to her first comment.
When the jet landed in Ansel City at a private villa, we were immediately greeted by the staff.
After settling Grandma in, Keith offered to give me a tour. His tone was somewhat apologetic, when he said, “This
is my family’s home. Although we rarely stay here, it’s always well–kept. Everything you need, from daily necessities
to clothes, is all set. You and Grandma will be staying here until the wedding.“.
As I walked into the villa, I was stunned. All the decoration and furnishing were chartered exactly to my taste. Yet, Keith did not boast or show off. He simply told me the password to the house and showed me around.
The closet was filled with new clothes.
“These were all recently bought. Auntie just cleaned and hung them up a few days ago,” he said.
I couldn’t help but ask, “Is this our wedding room?”
Keith shook his head. “No, his place was bought specifically for your wedding preparations.”
Tears immediately welled up in my eyes.
My uncle was right. Keith had been planning everything for our future long before I even agreed to marry him. The next morning, by the time I woke up, Keith had been waiting for me to wash up and eat the breakfast that he had prepared for me himself.
For some reason, the taste of breakfast Perú.

“Who taught you to cook like this?” I asked.
Keith warmed up a glass of milk, his expression was a little nervous.
“Years ago, I had the privilege of tasting your mother’s cooking. I’ve never forgotten the flavor, so I learned very hard to make it. I hope it’s according to your taste.”
I hurriedly took a big bite, but tears streamed down my face.
Seeing me like this, made Keith panicked. “Does it not taste good? If you don’t like it, I can make something else for you.”
I quickly shook my head, while Grandma, who was eating quietly beside us, suddenly spoke up, “Silly boy! The
reason she’s crying is because she’s touched.”
Grandma’s remark made my face turn as red as a ripe apple.
However, what moved me the most was yet to come.
The grand and romantic proposal, the spectacular fireworks display and the synchronized city–wide billboards announcing our engagement.
The wedding photos were exactly what I had dreamed of, the diamond ring and gown matched the designs I had
always envisioned.
Every detail told me that the person Keith had been wanting and preparing to marry was me all along.
