Not long after, the person who harmed me was found. It turned out to be one of
Darren’s previous enemies.
Rumor had it that Darren had tortured this
person terribly and since then, he’d been living like a madman.

embarrassing to admit, but it was actually

A few months ago, when the doctor informed me of my critical condition, I had been close to death several times.
At that time, Darren was also hospitalized, unaware that I had briefly woken up once.
My dad told me that Darren might be regaining his memory.
I was taken aback. If that was the case, I

had to leave quickly.
By the time Darren was well enough to be discharged from the hospital, all he would find was the news of my death and that my funeral had already been held.
I shouldn’t have used such an extreme excuse, but at that moment, I didn’t think things through.
My parents had been talking about moving abroad for a while. So, without thinking, I said, “Tell him I’m dead.”
Once a lie was told, countless more lies followed to cover it up.
And so, in the process of covering up, I actually ended up with a grave.
Now, I was on the other side of the ocean. In a few days, my parents would be joining me here.

evidence of our past love stayed back in the country. Whether or not he’d ever find it was no longer my concern.
It was the fourth month when I was finally able to get out of bed and walk again. That day also happened to be when my parents were arriving.
The driver helped me into the car and we headed to the airport to pick them up. I waited for a while before seeing both my parents and also saw Juan leaning on a
crutch.
My dad patted him, then waved to the driver to bring another wheelchair over.
Juan looked at me and smiled. “I happened to run into your parents and on a whim, decided to come along. Hope you don’t
mind.”
He was my savior, how could I possibly
mind?
I smiled as I looked at them, allowing my
dad to hold me close.

On the way back, the four of us chatted happily.
As we drove through the streets, the sun hung low in the sky. I pointed ahead and said, “It’s sunset.”
No one spoke after that, just quietly enjoying the moment.
I really liked this atmosphere.
The past was like yesterday’s death, while the future waa like the birth of today.
The car continued driving forward, heading home with the setting sun and evening breeze.
I thought to myself, I was about to begin. my new life.
