Chapter 10
I walked straight over, grabbed Flora, and slapped her hard across the face.
After everything that had happened, I had endured enough of this woman.
The two slaps carried all the strength I had, and I made sure she felt every bit of it.
“Let me tell you something, Flora, the slaps are for your shamelessness and your vile lies!

“How did I not notice how disgusting your mouth could be before?
“And since you like taking my trash so much, here you go–he’s all yours!
“You two better enjoy your time together!”
After saying this, I turned to leave, but Byron grabbed my wrist tightly.
“What do you mean by this, Lydia?” he demanded.
O
Looking at the man I had loved for so many years, I each word slowly and clearly, “It anymore.”

With that, I walked out, dragging my childhood friend Eason with me, leaving behind crowd of spectators enjoying the drama, a sobbing Flora, and a stunned Byron who couldn’t believe what had just happened.
On the way out, I even remembered to settle the bill before leaving.
On the drive home, I noticed Eason wanted to say something several times but didn’t.
“What is it you want to say?” I finally asked, unable to hold back.
“Sometimes, when emotions run high, people say things they might regret later,” he said, gently hinting that I might
After all, my love for Byron had once been so genuine and passionate.
I stayed silent and gazed out the car window at the passing scenery.
Once I got home, I began packing my belongings.
I tossed all the little trinkets I had bought over the years into the trash without hesitation.

day regret my words.
The photos I had forced him to take with me, all the so–called “precious memories” that I had created by myself were burned in one go.
These things, which outsiders had thought were signs of a happy marriage, had all been a facade I had built alone.
I didn’t stop there. I contacted a lawyer and had divorce papers drafted immediately.
The terms were straightforward. Byron was guilty of infidelity, and I demanded all marital assets be transferred to me.
I also submitted my resignation to the company where I worked.
Having quickly heard the news, Byron returned home, and I was talking on the phone with his mother.
Her tone was anything but pleasant. “Lydia, I don’t know what kind of drama you’re trying to stir up, but divorce isn’t a joke.
“And let’s be honest, there was never much love between you and Byron. It’s normal for him to like someone else, as long as he doesn’t bring her back home. Isn’t that good enough?”
Her words were laughable. I couldn’t believe such outdated thinking still existed in this day and age.
Of course, Byron’s mother had never liked me much, solely because of him.
“I’ve never heard anything as ridiculous as this,
“If you’re so understanding, why don’t you let your husband find someone else? He doesn’t like you either, does he?”
Her only response was an indignant. “You…”
*Save it, Mrs. Adams. If you’re feeling unwell, I’ll lend you money to see a doctor,” I replied coldly before hanging up the phone.
Dragging my suitcase behind me, I turned to find Byron standing in the doorway, staring at me with a mix of disbelief and anger.
“You’re serious about this, Lydia?”

I couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction.
“Do you think I’m joking? Or did your brain get scrambled from being scolded earlier?”
I brushed past him, intending to leave, but he grabbed my hand tightly.
“Lydia, we’re the ones who are truly meant for each other. Flora and I are just soulmates.”
He stood there, rambling on and on as if trying to justify himself.
It wasn’t until he noticed my complete lack of reaction that he sensed something was off.
Following my gaze, he turned around to see Flora standing behind him, her face full of pitiful grievance.
The moment he turned back to look at her, she ran off.
Now he stood there, holding my hand awkwardly, unsure whether to chase after her or let me go.
I didn’t give him a choice. I yanked my hand free.
“Don’t think refusing to sign the divorce papers will stop me. You’re the one who committed adultery during our marriage, and I can sue you anytime.”
With that, I left the house I had lived in for so many years.
When I got back, I took up the position of General Manager at my father’s company.
Drawing on my experience, I quickly made improvements, leading the company to thrive.
