I adjusted my collar, giving him a sideways glance. “I’m tired of living by everyone else’s rules. Is there a problem with me choosing what I want for once?”
Nick’s face flushed with anger. “You’re not even married yet. Do you have no shame?”
I was about to reply when Julian’s voice, relaxed and laced with irony, came from the room. “Well, brother, if I remember right, that hotel video with you and a certain influencer has already made the rounds. What’s wrong with us?”
Nick hadn’t realized Julian was still in the room, and his face turned white as a sheet.
“I don’t jump from one person to the next, nor do I make promises I can’t keep. When I choose someone, I commit.”
Hick’s face grew even paler.
“And Mila’s not a name you get to call so casually anymore,” Jullan added coolly. “Try sister–in–law‘ instead.”
Nick’s lips trembled, utterly speechless. I thought he might actually say it. Disappointed, I shut the door.
