Chapter 9
It was only then that I noticed her social. media had undergone a drastic change. Her profile picture, background, and pinned post were all filled with my images.
Her bio now read, [The one I love in this life is none other than Wyatt.]
It was an unmistakable, public declaration -a desperate attempt to share her feelings with everyone in our circle.
But, strangely, her actions didn’t stir a single emotion in me.
No matter how much I pleaded in our past life, she never once acknowledged me with even a hint of affection.
Now, when she’d lost me, she was
suddenly filled with regret, scrambling to make things right.
Kendra’s love felt cheap, hollow–a mere afterthought.

Chapter 9
That afternoon, I led my team to a casual gathering in the company cafeteria, the weight of her actions lingering in the back of my mind.
Halfway through the meal, Elliot stormed in, his face twisted in anger as he pointed directly at me, his voice a shrill cry of madness.
“Wyatt! What kind of spell did you cast on Kendra? Why is she suddenly so obsessed with you again? She even told me she wanted to call off our wedding plans.”
“Why? Why is it that, even in this life, I still can’t compete with you? Go to hell! Just go to hell!”
In a burst of rage, Elliot grabbed a nearby bowl of steaming soup, intent on hurling it
at me.
But before he could act, a figure stepped in front of me. Kendra forced a smile as if nothing was amiss, and the scalding soup splashed across her back.

Chapter 9
Once she saw that I was unharmed, she spun around, her eyes darkening as they locked onto Elliot with a chilling fury.
“How dare you cause trouble in front of Wyatt!”
“You even tried to harm him! Are you tired of living?”
With a swift shove, Kendra sent Elliot crashing to the floor. As he landed, something fell from his pocket–a pregnancy test kit and a medical report.
Everyone’s gaze immediately shifted to him. A sharp–eyed coworker quickly picked up the report, scanned it, and gasped, her hand covering her mouth. She looked up at Kendra in shock.
“Oh my God… Kendra, are you pregnant?”
