Chapter 10
Elliot snatched the report back with a self- satisfied grin, his eyes gleaming as he pointed at Kendra.
“Kendra, you didn’t know, did you? I secretly took a sample of your blood and had it tested. Turns out you‘ re already carrying my child.”
He leaned in, smirking.
“No matter how hard you cling to Wyatt, you’ll have no choice but to marry me and become my wife.”
Kendra‘ s face was drained of color, and her panic was evident. She quickly turned to me, her voice shaking as she tried to explain.
“It’s not true, Wyatt! You saw it yourself that day–my car was packed with. protection. There’s no way I could be pregnant with his child!”

She swallowed hard, then pointed at Elliot.
“He must’ve been with another woman and used someone else‘ s test to frame me! It’s not my baby!”
I shoved her hand away, my patience
snapping.
“Just because you used protection, does that make you clean? Just because the
pregnancy isn’t yours, you think you‘ re innocent?”
“Kendra, stop disgusting me.”
I turned away, my voice cold.
“I’ll reimburse the medical expenses you paid for me, but as for the rest? Don’t even bother. I’m not interested.”
I turned and walked away, my footsteps heavy with finality. Kendra tried to chase after me, her hand reaching for mine, but Elliot held her back, his grip firm as if he were afraid of losing her.

his move. Realizing his reputation was beyond repair, he decided to throw caution to the wind.
He spread rumors like wildfire across Cavendale, telling anyone who would listen that he and Kendra had already been intimate, that she was carrying his child, and that they had secretly agreed to marry.
The Jewett family, furious when they caught wind of the whispers, summoned Kendra back home.
After a tense examination, it was revealed that she wasn’t pregnant.
The family didn‘ t hesitate. They took swift action, disciplining her with brutal efficiency. Her back, already marred by previous scars, was covered with fresh lashes, each strike a harsh reminder of the family’s cruelty.
Once the punishment was delivered, they tore apart Elliot‘ s lies, publicly exposing him for the fool he was and humiliating
