Taylor immediately went pale as soon as she realized what she’d said.
“If it wasn’t for you, I would’ve never doubted Sharon when she called! If it wasn’t for you, Ruby wouldn’t have burned in that fire! If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have lost them!” Quentin roared.
He slammed everything to the floor in a fit of rage–the photos of him and Taylor, and the plaster figurines they made together. Every memory they shared was shattered.
Taylor dropped to the floor, shaking with fear–only now did the full weight of fear hit her.
“Quent, don’t be angry anymore, alright? I can have kids with you, too. I know you better than Sharon does. I’m younger, and I can build a family with you!”
Taylor crawled over and grabbed Quentin’s pant leg, her voice desperate as if she’d just found a lifeline. “I have a sister–Anya can be yours as well! Quent, don’t you think the two of us are better than just Sharon?”
Had Taylor not said Anya’s name, Quentin probably would’ve forgotten about her in the heat of the moment. But hearing her name instantly sparked something in him, and he broke into wild laughter.
“Well played, Taylor. You and Anya have been tricking me! You knew it was Sharon in that hospital bed the whole time, but you kept it from me! You made me send her straight into hell!”
Quentin’s face twisted with madness, but he quickly pulled himself together. He lunged forward, grabbed Taylor by the collar, and ignored her shaking protests.
His voice was unnervingly calm as he said, “I’ve already called the cops. I’m sending everyone who hurt Sharon down with her!”
Quentin ignored Taylor’s pleas and walked away.
I found his madness pretty hilarious. Taylor and Anya definitely played a part in my death, but it was him who was truly behind it all.
None of this would’ve happened if he hadn’t led Taylor on and flirted with her while she was chasing after him, or if he’d believed me when I asked for help and been a little more patient with me.
Even now, Quentin was still dodging responsibility. He was too afraid to admit that he was the one who caused both my and Ruby’s deaths
I watched as he drove to Lakeside Park, where he confessed his love to me all those years
ago.

He stood in the same place, wearing the same outfit and saying the same words. Even his eyes were as soft as they were back then. But I, who used to stand across from him, could
never return.
His muffled sobs echoed through the quiet park
性
Quentin kicked Taylor out of the house and threw all her stuff in the trash.
He kept looking for signs that I’d ever been there. But Taylor and Quentin had changed the place so much that there was hardly anything left that reminded him of me.
Eventually, he came across a camcorder in a cardboard box under the bed.
I stared at the camcorder, my chest tightening. I’d bought it on a whim when Ruby turned one, hoping to capture our moments together and maybe even win Quentin back.
Back then, I foolishly thought that he had just lost it for a moment when he saw Taylor again after so long.
I watched the video of Ruby and me setting up a big spread, hoping to surprise Quentin. But he wasn’t having it. He eyed the food with irritation and sarcastically mocked us for wasting it.
At the end of the video, Quentin slammed his bedroom door, and Ruby stared at the spread, bursting into tears in disappointment. I sighed and turned off the camcorder.
After that, I shoved the camcorder under the bed and never touched it again.
“No… no…” Quentin gripped the camcorder to his chest, his voice thick with emotion, like he was trying to hold onto something.
“Sharon… please come back. Please forgive me, okay? I’m sorry to you and Ruby…”
He locked himself in the bedroom, replaying the video over and over, laughing and crying until he almost collapsed from sobbing.
I watched from the sidelines but couldn’t feel anything. What was the point of him pretending to care so much after I was gone?
