I thought, “Regret? Leaving behind this entire family of leeches? I couldn’t be happier. Why
would I regret it?”
grabbed the bags I had already packed for Curran and Penney. Without waiting for them to react, I threw them out the door.
Penney, who had planned to stall and refuse to leave, stood frozen, shocked.
As Curran and Penney prepared to leave, I called out to them.
“Wait a minute,” I said.
“Hmph, what? Are you regretting it now? It’s too late for that.
But if you’re thinking about changing the property deed to my name, I might stay!”
He turned around with a smug expression.
I looked at him with disgust. I couldn’t understand how he could be so shameless.
I shoved Alvin, who was glaring at me, out of the way.
“Take this ingrate with you! After all, I’m such a bad mom.”
Curran stood there, stunned. He couldn’t believe I was throwing out even Alvin, the one
always favored.
Alvin’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“You… you don’t want me?” he asked.
I didn’t answer. I just slammed the door behind me.
Alvin, just like his dad, was a backstabber. After seeing the truth, I didn’t want him either.
I took out my phone and immediately changed my bank card and phone password.
Then I called the lawyer.
When we got married, all my salary went to supporting the family.
Meanwhile, Curran spent his money on his mistress.
That was marital property, and I was going to get it back.
When Curran found out he had to pay me five hundred thousand dollars, he panicked.
He banged on my door furiously.
“Shirley, why should I pay you five hundred thousand dollars?” he demanded.
Not only did he not expect it, but I also didn’t know that he had given one million dollars of our
marital assets to his mistress.
Compared to that, he had been so stingy with me.
I also found out that his monthly salary wasn’t just three thousand dollars. It was 30 thousand
dollars!
He had bought Brenda a house worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
He would buy her all kinds of gifts during the holidays.
Brenda never lacked handbags or jewelry. *
But I was scolded for drinking a two–dollar drink!
Curran, you spend your salary on your mistress, but you can’t even spare two dollars for
meŽAm I not your wife?”
