Chapter 294 Old Habits Die Hard
Bella slammed on the brakes. “What? You’re jolding right?”
Lia was on the verge of tears. “Does it look like I’m joking? I just saw him wearing the scarf I knitted. I gave that scarf to the guy I’ve been talking to online! No wonder he has always refused to meet with me.
“I poured my heart out to him. I even told him my actual name and the address to my studio. There’s no way he doesn’t know it’s me. He’s doing it on purpose!” nella reorganized her thoughts. “Wait… You’re saying that he’s chatting with you anonymously despite knowing who you are?”
norded firmly. “That’s right. When I gave him the scarf, I practically had to force him to accept it. He ignored me for days afterward, and we only made up really. Most importantly, I fucking told him I liked him!”
Bella was flabbergasted. She didn’t expect Lia to do something like this. “What did he say in response to that?”
After thinking about it, Lia replied, “He said we barely knew each other, and I might be confused. We should get to low each other a bit more before meeting up.”
She continued, “I’d like nothing more than to crawl into a hole right now. Wait–come to think of it, why am I running away? I should ask him why he’s messing with me. Tum the car around”
Bella was the one tugging on Lia’s arm now. She was somewhat aware of Leonard’s feelings. Even though he denied having any romantic interest in Lia, he acting quite suspiciously.
“Forget it,” said Bella. “fost continue talking to him like you don’t know anything and see what he does. Let’s go grab dinner.”

Lia wasn’t in the mood for food. “I’m not eating! 1 teel terrible. I can’t possibly have dinner now. How am I supposed to talk to him like usual when I know he’s actually Leonard? I should block him and pretend like nothing ever happened in the first place!”
Before Bella could say anything, Lia blocked the account Leonard used to talk to her. It seemed as though doing so gave her a peace of mind.
“Whatever makes you happy. If you don’t want to dine outside, we’ll just order in from your place. It’s freezing out here. I can’t bring myself to go anywhere else either.” Bella sighed in resignation.
Bella slept over at Lia’s apartment that night. Lia was miserable the entire night and couldn’t sleep. Every now and then, she would start walling as if she had just gone through a breakaip.

Bella couldn’t sleep either. She felt extremely frustrated.
At 2:00 am, she asked with a sleep–deprived expression, “What on earth is going on with you? Do you like him?”
Lia froze.
* like the funny and sophisticated man I was talking to–not Leonard. He practically shattered my entire perception of love. I didn’t think he would mess things up for me again, but I guess old habits die hard. After driving away two of my boyfriends, he decided to pull something like this!”
“What if Leonard has feelings for you?” Bella asked again.
Lia shot her down without hesitation. “That’s impossible. Our situation is similar to that of yours and Dominic’s. We both got off on the wrong foot. But in our case, neither of us has ever had a secret crush on the other person for years, I’d like nothing more than to pull his head off tight now!”
Knowing Lia, there was no way bella could convince her otherwise. She had no energy to deal with this matter any further. Later into the night, she finally managed to get a few hours of sleep.
The next day, she got to the hospital while feeling extremely sleep–deprived. She felt slightly dazed as well. When she passed by the ER, she decided to pay Felixa visit but couldn’t find him anywhere. When she asked around, she found out that he had taken a two–day sick leave.
It was suspicious for a doctor to call in sick She called hum, but he didn’t pick up. For some reason, she had a bad feeling about this
