Chapter 155 Something’s Wrong
Since they couldn’t go out for dinner, Bella and Lia ended up ordering takeout. Both stood by the door with their coffee in hand. At that moment, their stomachs growled in anticipation.
Lia grumbled, “Coffee tastes bitter when you’re starving. Where’s the delivery guy? For fuck’s sake, I’ve never been this excited to see a man show up.”

Instead of the delivery guy, a luxury car pulled up. Lia’s eyes widened in shock. “Wait, delivery drivers roll up in fancy cars now? That ride’s gotta be worth a few million, right?”
Bella rolled her eyes and said, “Can you think about something other than food? Maybe it’s a
client.”
Lia finally snapped out of it. She set down her coffee, grabbed an umbrella, and walked over to greet the new arrival.
When the car door opened, Bella caught sight of a pair of legs in stockings and designer heels. She found the woman familiar, and just as she was about to call out to Lia, the woman got out of the car. It was Leonard’s mother, Diane.
Lia was in her goofy mood as she said, “Man, it’s not the best day to be out in this weather.
Diane gently linked arms with Lia as they walked inside. “Don’t worry about it. Even if it’s pouring rain, I still have to come.”
Lia had actually met Diane once before when she stormed into Leonard’s office building to confront him. Back then, Lia was so focused on Leonard that she hadn’t noticed anyone else
around.
Forcing a smile, Bella greeted Diane nervously, “Hello, Mrs. Sawyer.”
Lia asked, “Wait, you two know each other? That’ll make this easier, then.”
Diane nodded and greeted Bella.
After casually walking around the studio, Diane seemed genuinely interested in the wooden.

After Lia’s explanation, Diane finally said, “Young lady, Leonard knows he was wrong. I gave him quite a talking–to, and trust me, he won’t pull anything like that again. Also, I brought some gifts as an apology.”

Diane’s gaze flickered slightly. “Oh… really? I’ll make sure he stays in line. He has never had a girlfriend before, so he’s a bit clueless when it comes to women. I hope you can understand.”
Just then, Diane’s driver came in with a mountain of gifts, almost covering Lia’s workbench. It was as if they had done their homework as most of the gifts were food, something Lia was known to be particularly fond of.
Diane’s sincere apology made Lia feel awkward. Staring at the piles of food, her mind drifted. ” You didn’t have to go through all this trouble… I’m not even that hungry… No, wait, that’s not what I mean. What I mean is, it’s not that big of a deal. Leonard didn’t really do anything to

Diane found a seat and sat down. She said in a friendly manner, “As long as there’s no harm done. Your studio is lovely, by the way.
“How about this… I’ll help you open your own company. Holha is booming right now, so you can set up there. I’ll cover all the expenses, and you won’t have to worry about finding clients.”
Lia was stunned by the offer and unsure of what to say. Only Bella picked up on the hidden implications in Diane’s words.
At that moment, the takeout finally arrived. Bella quickly said, “Lia, why don’t you grab the like to food? You were starving earlier. Let’s eat first. Mrs. Sawyer, have you eaten? Would you join us?”
Diane shook her head and said, “No thanks. You two go ahead. I’ll wait for you to finish, and then we can talk more.”
