Chapter 144 Have Some Restraint
Bella paused for a moment. “I think.. Dominic isn’t someone who can be pushed around. He knows the consequences, so he must have a way to avoid giving in. I don’t need to know or worry about it.”
lam sighed. “I’m just saying Amber isn’t easy to deal with. She’ll stop at nothing to get what she wants. If she’s resorting to force, she won’t let this go. Anyway, I’ve got to get back to work just a heads–up that if Amber tries to contact you again, ignore her.”
Bella nodded. When she wasn’t so busy, she went to the pharmacy to pick up some birth control pills. She hadn’t taken them the last two times, so she could only hope her ich wasn’t that bad.
The pharmacist couldn’t help but tease her, “You’re going through these too fast, Dr. Jones. Didn’t you just pick up some a few days ago? You should have some bestraint. You’re young, but still…”
Bella was so embarrassed she wished she could disappear into the ground. “That’s not it… I lost the last batch.”
After that, Bella practically fled from the pharmacy. She stepped into the elevator, only for the atmosphere to immediately drop to a chilling degree. Amber was here.
Tanhad just talked to Bella about her, and here she was. To make things worse, they were the only two people in the elevator.
Amber carried herself with the same air of superiority. She was dressed head to toe in designer brands without coming off as tacky. There was a confidence about het, bom from the life of privilege–something most people could never imitate.
She looked at Bella the same way she always did, her chin tilted upward in contempt. “Ugh, what bad luck.”
Bella breathed a sigh of relief. It looked like Amber wasn’t here to see her. Bella pressed the button for the cardiac department and stood aside, ignoring her. There was no need to engage with Amber.
But then, Amber’s eyes landed on the pills in Bella’s hand. Without warning, she snatched them away.
“Birth control pills? Hah…”
Bella was annoyed. “Give them back.”
Amber shot her a cold, disdainful look “And if I don’t? If Dominic is your bed partner, wouldn’t you want to get pregnant? Why would you need birth control pills? Unless you’re cheating on him with someone else. Women like you are truly disgusting!
Belia couldn’t be bothered to explain. “Please return my things to me. If you want to throw a tantrum, do it at home. I’m not here to entertain you. Amber casually tossed the bottle back at Bella, “w ambition lies in his career, and I can give him everything he wants”

As soon as the elevator reached the floor for the cardiac department, Bella walked out. She didn’t want to spend another second around Amber. Even though it wasn’t a major confrontation, Bella couldn’t stop trembling–not out of anger, but something else she couldn’t quite name.
Amber’s confidence in taking Dominic away was unsettling. When Bella thought about the impending situation she was about to face, her heart sank. It felt like a gaping black hole had opened up, and a bone–chilling wind had seeped in.
In the aftemoon, Amber arrived at Miller Manor to find Dominle sitting on the living room couch, flipping through a magazine. Pudding lay quietly at his feet. Pudding didn’t react when Amber entered. She didn’t even bother to get up-
Amber felt annoyed and muttered, “Useless dog. What an ungratefull mutt.”
Dominic looked up and coldly said, “You’ve got 30 minutes. I don’t have time to waste. If you’ve got anything to
to say, do it quickly.”
Amber walked over and sat beside him. She gave Pudding a disgusted look before kicking her away. It wasn’t a hard dick, so Dominic held back his anger and silently stroked Pudding to comfort her.
Amber was calculative as usual, so she deliberately brought up Bella with ease, “I was at the hospital today for a check up, and I ran into Bella. She was picking up some birth control pills.”
