No one expected Lydia to suddenly attack like that.
She tried to push me off the roof directly. Her strength was immense, and her movements were quick and frenzied.
Nobody had time to react. Mrs. Brown let out a scream, wanting to stop it but unable to in time.
I was completely unprepared. My hand instinctively flailed out, grabbing onto a nearby pillar, but it only served to slow my fall slightly.
At the critical moment, the firefighter who had just restrained Lydia quickly took off his helmet and threw it with pinpoint accuracy, striking Lydia in the shin.

It took me several seconds to catch my breath and get up. My fingernails were injured from grabbing the pillar, and they stung painfully.
Phoenix seemed to have regained some clarity. Looking at Lydia being taken away, he said to

In the end, I didn’t berate him. I just gave him one last long look before turning away.
Both Phoenix and I ended up in ambulances, but that was the last time I saw him.
