When we met at the courthouse at the agreed time, Eden looked scruffy, as if he hadn’t slept well for several days. The first
moment he saw me, he sneered, “Juliet, it’s too late for you to regret now. You have no chance to back out.”
I felt like I was looking at a clown, struggling to understand why he was so confident.
After receiving the divorce certificate, I sighed in relief.
Neither the eighty–million–dollar prize nor my unborn child would have anything to do with the scum that is Eden.
Eden still wore a self–satisfied expression, as if he could already see me crying and begging for his forgiveness at his feet.
But I didn’t spare him a glance and excitedly went to claim my winning ticket.
I heard the news about Eden and Serena again three months later. By that time, I had moved into my newly purchased villa, enjoying a leisurely life while preparing for motherhood.
The events from that day in the hospital were reported by the media, completely shattering Eden’s previously deep and loving
persona.
Moreover, with his beloved Serena still bedridden, Eden lost

interest in work, and after being dismissed from the fire department, he became unemployed.
Surprisingly, the Bernal family’s expenses fell entirely on Jessica’s shoulders.

Jessica liked Serena solely because of Serena’s child. But after Serena’s miscarriage, she became a worthless burden. However, out of respect for Eden’s deep love for Serena, Jessica had to grit her teeth and continue to support the whole family.
I encountered Eden again at a community event. Eden attended with Serena. Serena seemed to have recovered somewhat, but the visible skin still showed severe burn scars.
Eden, having lost his proud job, looked utterly defeated.
Serena appeared to have made an effort to dress up, but due to the uneven texture of her burn–scarred skin, even the most exquisite makeup looked patchy on her face.
When Serena spotted me, she charged at me like mad, desperately trying to scratch my face, but Eden restrained her.
“You bitch, you are the one who made me this way. Yet you dress up all glamorous to try to seduce Eden. You’re temptress!”
Eden looked at me with a mix of surprise and infatuation. He proudly said, “Juliet, you really can’t forget about me, coming all the way here.”
I rolled my eyes and sneered, “I’m following you, huh? I’m just

curious. This is a community owners‘ gathering. How did you get in? I remember your name wasn’t on the owners‘ list, was it?”

Serena raised her eyebrows at me smugly, leaning dependent on Eden’s arm.
“Eden got a friend to bring him in. What kind of bumpkin do you think you are, thinking you could join such an event? A house here costs tens of millions of dollars.”
Eden also looked at me with a condescending gaze. “So, Juliet, how about coming back to me?”
Serena, who had been smiling, immediately stared at Eden in disbelief upon hearing this, then shot me a fierce glare.
“Juliet, don’t you realize how good Eden is now? Are you trying to snatch him away from me? Dream on! Security, kick this homewrecker out.”
Eden gave Serena an annoyed glance, and she instantly deflated like a balloon doused with cold water.
Eden looked back at me, and his eyes were filled with false
affection.
“Juliet, come back, you can stay with Serena and me. She won’t
mind.”
People gathered around to watch and began discussing.

“Who invited him? Does he think he’s an emperor wanting to have multiple wives?”

“What a weirdo! Has our community management gone so lax?”
“He even brought an ugly creature in. What kind of beauty could possibly like him?”
Laughter and mockery filled the air. I didn’t say a word, and Eden’s face turned red with anger.
When Serena heard someone call her ugly, she screamed furiously, splashing champagne on the guests.
“Nonsense! You are all blinded by this cheap woman. I am not ugly. I am the most beautiful!”
Her hysterical behavior startled everyone present, and Eden felt embarrassed, awkwardly looking around while covering
Serena’s mouth.
The security, arriving late, restrained the crazed Serena and asked who was causing the disturbance.
Serena continued to scream, “It’s this homewrecker! She came to this elite event to fish for men. Hurry up and throw her out!”
But the security officer saluted me. “Madam, I apologize for the inconvenience. We will handle this now.”
Seeing the security treat me with such respect, Eden was shocked, and his eyes were wide open.

“Is she a property owner in your community? You must be joking. She doesn’t even have a job. Where would she get the money to buy a house?”

I smirked sarcastically. “The fact proves that after leaving you, I’m doing even better,”
Eden glared at me, grinding his teeth.
“I get it. You became a whore after you divorced me, right? You’re making money by selling your body. It’s easier for you women. Just depend on your body, and the money comes rolling
in.”
I slapped him hard across the face, and my eyes were filled with disgust.
“Don’t think of me as dirty as you. I just happened to win the lottery, not a huge amount, just eighty million dollars.”
