1 smiled and stepped forward to shake hands with the claims adjuster.

“Hello, I’m sorry for the trouble. I went out to the supermarket this morning, so I missed the fire. As for what Jessica and my husband did, I did not know any of it.”
The claims adjuster excitedly shook my hand, repeatedly thanking me.
“Mrs. Bernal, thank you for coming forward. Otherwise, our company would have suffered huge losses. We really appreciate it.”
The reporters erupted in confusion.
“What does this mean? Is the lady inside not Eden’s wife? Why was he crying so sincerely for someone else?”
“Can’t you see? He didn’t even recognize his own wife and was pretending to be a devoted husband. Now, that’s been exposed!”
The reporters pressed closer, almost shoving the microphone into Eden’s mouth.
Eden glared at me with hatred, as if I were his enemy, yet he was powerless against me.

He didn’t directly respond to the reporters but shoved them all out of the room, then pointed his finger at me, warning me.
“Juliet, don’t try to trick me. The only person I love is Serena. You don’t even compare to her pinky.”
I scoffed, and my gaze fell on Serena lying in the bed.
“Eden, since the person on the bed isn’t me, aren’t you curious who she might be?”
Eden snorted disdainfully, “Did you hire an actress? How much did you pay her to take such a big risk just to get my attention?
“Well, no more tricks. Even if you hadn’t died, I wouldn’t maintain this marriage any longer.”
Jessica was still mumbling about the million dollars she had lost. She grabbed Eden’s sleeve, shouting that they couldn’t divorce, but Eden impatiently shook her off.
“Mom, I have to divorce her. Serena is already pregnant with my child. I can’t let her wait any longer.
“The doctor said Serena is having a boy. Mom, don’t you want a grandson?”
After hearing their conversation, I almost laughed.
I also believed the marriage had to end. I could never allow Eden to get even a cent of the eighty million dollars.

“Eden, you’ve been waiting for Serena for so long, and she still hasn’t shown up. Don’t you think that’s strange?”
Eden frowned at me, clearly thinking I was still trying to play tricks.
“Serena is at home resting. Don’t bother her.”
Looking at his confident face, I laughed heartily. “Eden, let me tell you. The one lying on that bed is your Serena.”
Eden glared at me furiously. “Juliet, do you want to die? How dare you curse Serena in front of me?”
Seeing the opportunity, I pulled out Serena’s phone from my pocket and tossed it onto the bedside table.
“I found this phone downstairs when Serena was being carried away on a stretcher.
“Serena liked to sneak into my bedroom to wear my clothes and jewelry. You know that too. You even recorded her fingerprint for her convenience.
“The only people who could enter our home besides you and me are Jessica and Serena. Now that the three of us are here, who else could the person on the bed be?”
Eden’s face turned pale as he rushed over to grab Serena’s phone. The phone case bore burns, clearly taken out from the fire scene.

He stared in disbelief at the bedridden Serena for a while, murmuring, “No, it can’t be. She can’t be Serena.”

Seeing Eden on the verge of collapse, Jessica slapped me across the face.
“You wicked! How dare you curse my grandson? I think you’re just jealous of Serena. You’ve been married to Eden for three years and still can’t get pregnant. What right do you have to talk nonsense here?”
I caught Jessica’s hand with force and pushed her hard against the wall.
“Eden is not worthy to have my children. He crushed the baby in Serena’s belly with his own hands, and do you still expect her to bear you a grandson? You two should pray that Serena is unharmed. Otherwise, Eden will have to carry a life on his conscience.”
Eden, seeing that Serena’s phone had already convinced him to some extent, collapsed to the ground in shock after hearing my words. He stared blankly at the bedridden Serena without speaking.
Jessica tried to hit me again, but I firmly held her hand.
“Jessica, you’d better think carefully before you act against me. I recorded everything Eden just did in the hospital room!”
Jessica glared at me as if she wanted to bore a hole through me.
