Chapter 8
I had never defended myself. But the less I defended, the more the netizens thought I was guilty.
[This matter must be true. If it weren’t true, she would have called the police a long time ago.]
[Right, she’s guilty if she doesn’t call the police. If she doesn’t call the police, let’s go to the police and arrest her.]
[But we don’t have any evidence.]
No matter what Jessica said, she had no evidence, so the police didn’t come looking for me.
At night, I came out of the supermarket. As I was going up the stairs, a man suddenly jumped out, wearing a mask and hat, pushed me down,
then ran away.

I rolled down the stairs and hit my head on the wall with a thud, feeling dizzy.
I hurriedly called an ambulance and filed a police report at the hospital.
The following day, news of my injury and hospitalization appeared on the internet. The comments all said that the man who had committed the crime was a hero and that it was too bad that I didn’t die.
After three days of observation in the hospital, I returned home.
I took a shower and had just gotten out when the doorbell rang.
I looked in the spyhole and realized it was Edward.
“What are you doing here?” I asked as I opened the door.
Edward came in hurriedly and looked down at my belly. I had just gotten out of the shower and was wearing a fitted tank top.
“What are you doing? I’m not your wife anymore.” I stepped back.
“Why is your belly flat? Where’s the baby? Where’s the baby?” He shouted anxiously, “Is the baby gone?”
I thought about how he hadn’t believed me last time when I said I had aborted the baby, so I said, “The baby didn’t survive after I was pushed downstairs and taken to the hospital.
“Ah!” Edward roared hysterically, “Why didn’t you keep the baby? You set out to make me lose the baby, didn’t you?”
I was speechless with rage. “I was pushed down. How was I supposed to protect the baby? Besides, how dare you say that about me? If you weren’t involved in cyberbullying me, it wouldn’t have happened. You killed the baby.”
Edward froze and couldn’t stop thinking.
If Edward hadn’t posted that video, maybe it really wouldn’t have happened.
“And, stop pretending. I know you’re reborn as well.” I revealed it to him.
Edward looked up in shock at me and asked, “You were reborn as well?”
I said, “Yes. So don’t put on an act in front of me. In my previous life, you locked me in a secret room despite me being pregnant, and I was bitten to death by the poisonous snakes. How dare you cry here now?”
Edward blushed at my words and only said a little while later, “When I was reborn and came back, I only thought of two things. One of them is saving Jessica, and the other is getting the baby. I don’t have the slightest bit of guilt towards you. What happened to you now is all your own
fault.”
I said calmly, “Since you’ve decided that Jessica is good and I’m evil, I have nothing to say. Please leave now.”
