“Lucian? What brings you here…”
Before I could finish, he strode into the elevator, his expression cold and
simmering with rage.
Grabbing my wrist, he pulled me out with a roughness that sent a shiver down my
spine. Ignoring my protests, Lucian clenched his jaw and declared,
“Savannah, I concede, you‘ ve won. Whatever it is you want, I’ll give it to you, but only if you stop giving me the cold. shoulder and making me suffer.”
I stared at him, a whirlwind of confusion and disbelief swirling within me. “Lucian, are you really this dense? How many times. must I spell it out? We‘ ve broken up, and I want you to leave me alone.”
Despite my words hanging in the air, Lucian remained unfazed, his eyes locked onto mine with an intensity that sent

shivers down my spine.
He tightened his grip on my struggling hand, pulling me toward his sleek silver car parked just a few meters away.
Just then, Rigel stepped forward, grasping my other arm firmly.
“Savannah doesn’t want to go with you,” he stated calmly, his voice steady as a rock.
Noticing me inching closer to Rigel, Lucian’s mouth thinned into a hard line, his tone mocking as he directed his words. at him. “Do you even realize that. Savannah and I were on the brink of marriage? She accepted my proposal, and soon, she’ll be my wife. What gives you, an outsider, the right to interfere in my business with my fiancée?”
Rigel’s grip on my hand tightened, but before he could muster a response, I shot Lucian a scathing glare. “Rigel is my boyfriend now, which makes my business

his as well. And you, a loathsome ex who can’t take a hint, who do you think you are to bark at him like that?”
No sooner had I finished than Ophelia emerged from Lucian’s car, draped in a hospital gown.
Leaning against him, she batted her lashes. and unleashed her barbed words.
“Savannah, I saw people taking pictures of you flirting with this man at the banquet. And now you‘ re hurting Lucian for him? Sister, could you really be so fickle that you couldn’t wait even two months before latching onto another man? I can’t believe
you…
What a flawless act of painting me as disloyal and desperate.
Instead of rising to her bait, I accepted her insinuations with surprising calm, turning to Lucian with mock sincerity. “Look how much Ophelia cares about you. Honestly, you two are a match made in heaven. I truly wish you both happiness and a long

life together.”
My indifferent blessing darkened Lucian‘ s expression, and his face visibly soured. Ophelia’s eyes gleamed with a hint of satisfaction, poised to say more when she caught sight of me beside Rigel.
Suddenly, Lucian shoved her aside as if awakening from a dream.
She stumbled, her knee scraping against the rough ground as she looked at Lucian, shock painted across her face.
He sprinted toward me, urgency etched into every line of his being.
“Savannah,” he panted, “it’s not what you think with Ophelia. She fainted near the office, and I had to rush her to the hospital…”
I suppressed a laugh, raising an eyebrow.
“Why are you telling me this?”
Sensing my calm demeanor, Lucian visibly relaxed, his shoulders easing. “Savannah,

I just want you to know that, from start to finish, you’re the only one in my heart.”
Just as Lucian reached for my face, Rigel. stepped forward, pulling me into his embrace. His tone was cold as he said,
“Savannah is my girlfriend now. Please respect that.”
Just as I was about to thank Rigel with a look for his support, Lucian lunged forward, grabbing his collar, rage boiling in his eyes. He balled his fist and swung.
Rigel had the agility to dodge, but instead, he chose to absorb the blow, standing resolute to protect me.
The sharp sound of the slap echoed through the desolate parking lot, trailing behind Lucian’s furious punch.
