Chapter 95
Callido was gasping for breath. He couldn’t move. He couldn’t even feel his own body. 11is eyes wanted to close as he could feel his
unconsciousness creeping in. But no, he didn’t want to. He wanted to keep his eyes open, he wanted to see her. He knew she was coming to get him out of there. Lorraine wouldn’t let him be alone.
‘She’s coming. I know she will get me out of here..!
“Lorraine will come
As if on cue, there was a female voice shouting his name.
“Lonaine
“Callisto! Oh my god!” Tan the voice seemed different.
He saw her clothing and it wasn’t the attire of the woman he had been waiting for. He felt her hand press against his wounds. He heard her sobbing.
Callisto.”
He tied to tight the urge to close his eyes. His vision was getting blurry.
“Lorraine.”
“N–no, Callisto. It’s me Amber… Please stay awake…
When Callisto woke up in the hospital, he was met with another unpleasant surprise. Amber had just confessed that he was the father of Anjie
At first, he probably didn’t believe. He remembered that night when he got drunk and woke up next to Amber. Even before he married Lorraine, he knew it had been a mistake.
He couldn’t accept what had happened, so there was no way he would agree to Amber’s accusations. Plus, he could barely remember anything from that night because he’d been so intoxicated.
However, Amber proved he was Anjie’s father through a DNA test. His world nearly collapsed all over again.
It wasn’t long before their parents found out and started pressuring him to take responsibility for Anjie and Amber. During that time, his mind and. heart were in utter turmoil. Lorraine didn’t care about him anymore, as far as he knew, because she was already having an affair
Because of that he decided to take responsibility for Amber and Anjie without giving Lorraine a proper explanation. He was hurting and couldn’t bring himself to face her, let alone confront her about her relationship with Cassian. He was afraid it would shatter his heart even more.
So, he divorced Lorraine, but what puzzled him the mast was her reaction, as if she had the right to question him about their divorce.
Ever since the separation, Callisto had not been himself. That was, until he found out that Lorraine was pregnant.
He couldn’t explain it, but deep down, he felt that the child she was carrying was his.
But before he could uncover the truth an accident happened, leaving him in a coma. When he finally woke up, he had no memory of anything.
“AHH” Callisto gasped for air as his eyes flew open. He shot up from his bed, his wide eyes filled with shock, as if everything from his dream–the events of the past–had come rushing back in an instant,
“No, it’s not just a dream..” he said, trembling. “It was my memory, I remember it all. Lorraine?”
6 months later.
“What are you aloing here?”
at the comm
corners of his lips. “Aren’t you
Callisto raised both of his eyebrows at the unexpected greeting from the man sitting before him. A grin tugged at happy to see me! It’s been months, Liun. How’s life in prison?”
Two police officers left the dimly lit room just as he entered. Liam didn’t back down from grinning “It’s not so bad, actually, I always get special treatment. I still can go out sometimes.”

Chapter 95
Callisto lifted both feet onto the table, a casual gesture of superiority. “Not anymore, my guy. Those officers have been fired,” he said with a light laugh
Liam’s grin faltered, and he sighed, clearly upset. Callisto’s eyes quickly scanned Liam’s form–the handcuffs wrapped around both of his wrists and the prison attire he wore. His face had aged a little since the last time Callisto had seen him, following his own near year–long imprisonment.
“But no worries. You won’t be leaving this prison anymore, even if you wanted to The people you were associated with? Amber! Amanda! My stepmom, and Cassian? They’re all out for trials now. And if you people manage to fool any of us again, I’ll make sure they rot here with you” Callisto crossed his arms defiantly.
Liam scoffed and sat in the chair opposite him. Mimicking Callisto’s earlier gesture, he placed his feet on the table. Callisto lowered his and locked eyes with him.
“I don’t think you’ll fool anyone ever again, Liam Just look at yourself–you’re empty. You have no money, no businesses left, and your companies are sinking Last I checked. Uncle Henry took it all away. Your hidden wealth is slowly being uncovered. So it’s best for you to rest here in prison without trying so hard to escape. Nothing awaits you out there. I’m sure Anjie is very disappointed with her parents. But don’t worry, she’s in the good hands.”
Liam’s jaw tightened at Callisto’s words. He stared at him, yet his gaze seemed distant. Callisto grew serious, the moment settling with the weight of unspoken history. He knew why Liam was released from prison every year–this was the fifth year of it
Callisto sighed, swallowing a lump in his throat, before a long silence lingered between them.
“You’re supposed to be locked up here with me if you weren’t pretending to be innocent, Callisto.” Liam scoffed again, his tone dripping with sarcasm as he lowered his feet to focus on Callisto. “How did you manage to fool Lorraine? By your pretentious act of playing the victim?”
Callisto inhaled sharply, a wince of discomfort passing over his features. I admit I’m not innocent. I hurt her, even our children too. But what happened in the past wasn’t my fault. It’s all because of your schemes. I mea, if you badly wanted to be with Amber, why do you have to destroy my family?”
Liam’s fist clenched tightly, a shadow of rage crossing his face. “It’s your fault from the very start. If only you didn’t seduce Amber-
“Seduce She’s obsessed with me.” Callisto pressed his lips together tightly, his jaw set hard. After a moment, he exhaled deeply, gathering his thoughts. “Every day, I regret how I fell into her traps. I don’t forget because I’m haunted by that nightmare every night. You don’t know how much I punished myself and Lorraine? Even our twins?”
Callisto silently fumed, his thoughts simmering. Liam was wrong. Dead wrong. He had no idea what Callisto had gone through the punishment he’d imposed on himself. He’d tried countless times to surrender, but if it hadn’t been for Lorraine’s forgiveness, he would’ve long since been locked away in a cell like Liam.
Time had passed quickly. Months had come and gone, yet Callisto still couldn’t forget that night when everything came to a bitter end. Even now, it
felt surreal
